定位比较重要，你究竟是个一定要fit in但是长得太奇怪的化外之人呢，还是你的不同
是因为你special呢？比如我认识的美国犹太朋友，他们就没有什么一定要fit in的感
觉，讲起他们的文化习俗也非常自然，他们就是special的，不是the boring
mainstream，是God's chosen people.难道ABC就不能是玉皇大帝's chosen people之
类的么？尊重自己的根，别人才会尊重你，我认识的犹太人都会说hebrew或者yiddish,

纽约市皇后区贝赛13岁印度裔男生马翰卡里(Arvind Mahankali)30日在86届「史克立
普全国拼字比赛」(Scripps National Spelling Bee)正确答对「肉丸」(Knaidel)的
字义，荣获冠军头衔。「肉丸」的字源来自德文和犹太裔常用的意第绪文(Yiddish)。
今年来自纽约州的学生囊括前三名。
马翰卡里为贝赛「纳撒尼尔•霍桑」(Nathaniel Hawthorne Middle School)中学的
学生，他曾参加2011和2012年的比赛，荣获第三名。他在前两次比赛，每次都是因
为答错德文字，而错失获得冠军的机会。在夺得冠军后，他说：「德文咒诅已成为
德文祝福。这意味着，我可以『光荣退伍』。」
马翰卡里独得3万元奖金，以及一个大奖杯。他计画用奖金支付大学的费用。这位中
学生崇拜爱因斯坦，希望成为量子物理学家，因此他计画利用暑假研读物理学。
