"We do not have pay lines – we consider multiple factors in our
administrative evaluation. We will start the evaluation of your application
in the summer after the May council."
any experience? fundable? borderline?
(the initial funding was received 5 yr ago at 3rd percentile with ESI status

idea. Very likely you will get it. But at this stage, it is not 100%
guaranteed.

I wasn't aware that NIGMS has such a wide gray-zone. On the other hand, one
can clearly see NCI and NIBIB have clear thresholds due to their hard cut-
off policies, amazing

然NIGMS会有麻烦。NIGMS的PO从来都是这套说辞吓唬人，就算1%也是如此。

good to know. did you mean the total FY direct cost in the Other Support
document? because this is a renewal and this grant is currently in NCE,
should I use my remaining balance or ignore that grant in the total? also,
does that number include any pending applications (under review)?

发帖数: 841 | 7 Yes, it is about Other Support. the previous NCE and this new application
should be considered as one. The total dollar amount of funded grants are
considered. Say, if you have two other active R01s (modular $250K), you are
okay to have a third one ($250K). But all grants would be counted including
other non-NIH grants.

and give an estimate.
hypothetically - if one has 3 grants A, B and C, A is the one being renewed,
say the renewed grant is A'. A is currently in NCE, but with a non-zero
balance - assumed to be spent down before A' starts.
if A, B, C and A' are all modular, again, hypothetically speaking - does
this make it over 750k? or just within the limit?
what if there is another grant, D, that is currently under review, but don't
know if it can be funded. from the link, it says "inclusive of the initial
review group-recommended level for the pending application after staff cuts
have been applied" - does that mean this pending one must be approved by the
council meeting to be included?

no, the pending application D must be included in the JIT. It is only a
problem when this pending application (D) also receives a fundable score
around the same time when A' is being awarded. NIH's financial admin has
access to all NIH grant status data, they know when to raise that flag.

I believe this will be re-evaluated every year when you submit your annual
report (which includes your most up to date Other Support)
