Roger Goodell had a fairly hefty paycheck in 2011, taking home over $29
million from his employer the National Football League, according to tweets
from the Sports Business Journal’s Daniel Kaplan.
According to Kaplan, the NFL commissioner’s normal pay was nearly tripled
by the league in 2011 thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement with
the player’s union, as well as the signing of new TV contracts.
Goodell’s contract in 2011 paid him approximately $10 million per year, but

league grow year after year, and won big in the CBA negotiation. Not only
for the owners, but for the league as a whole, his impact is much bigger
than any single player. It's a successful business decision after another to
make the NFL where it is now, that it makes 1000 times more profit than 50
years ago, not that the players play 1000 times better than before.
