Two days ago, i played the Ranch Golf Club at San Jose. (blue tee, slope 142)
#7 511 par5 from blue tee, after tee shot, i have 205 to the center of green
, against the wind, over the water. two on, within 20 feet uphill putt,
slight break. my eagle putt catch the rim and spin out, easy come back putt
for birdie.
that was exactly my feeling.

long par4 (400+ yard ) in 2 倒是比以前多多了, 毕竟wedge/short/mid iron 好打一些。
so i guess consistency & long hitting & decent short game & patience --->
frequent birdie @ par5.
not 2on green, as long as 2nd shot to chip or shot pitch distance, still
high probablity to score birdie.

发帖数: 4031 | 7 Agree. I made a few birdies on par 5s this year, all of them attributable to
less than 60 yards pitching or chipping on the third shot and landing the
ball close to the pin.
Most long par 4s (440 yards plus) are my soft spot because of my unstable
fairway wood shots. More often than not, I end up with a bogie or worse on a
long par 4.
