The Enterprise software team is seeking a talented data engineer who can
develop and drive a data infrastructure roadmap to support Guardant Health’
s leadership in cancer diagnosis and management, leveraging the value of its
data.
As a Data Engineer/Architect, you will primarily drive
Understanding the technical and business requirements for data processing
and management
Designing the appropriate data stores (database, data stores and warehouse)
and data flow architecture that integrates heterogeneous 3rd party SaaS/in-
house operational and analytical data sources
Developing proper data models based on the business and technical
requirements; standardizing data interfaces and schemas for internal and
external integrations
Building proper analytical and BI layers to democratize data access
Taking the scalability and availability of the data infrastructure to the
next level considering the massive amount of genomics data we generate and
process
Defining the company’s data governance best practices
About You
You love building complex, scalable, and highly available data integrations
and manage how data brings life to many services and decision making process
. You enable scale, reliability and low cost maintenance by building
automation and monitoring tools.
You enjoy an agile, fast paced and highly technical environment. You are
comfortable with tackling a problem, driving a solution from inception to
birth, leading cross-functional collaborations, and communicating technical
and non-technical information across multiple functions and levels. You are
dedicated to engineering excellence yet pragmatic enough to balance quality
principles, regulatory compliance and business needs.
In addition, you bring the following to the table:
Solid experience designing, implementing and operating distributed data
pipelines and integration architecture in the cloud and on-premise
Experience in building and operating large scale Enterprise Data Warehouse
including data modeling, warehouse design, realtime and batch data movement
(ETL, DB replication etc.), query optimization
Hands-on experience and knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL data stores
and cloud storage: MySQL, Postgresql, Redshift, Spark, AWS S3 and Glacier
Strong programming ability in Python or Ruby, and Linux Bash
Have built security and data governance in the data infrastructure.
Experience with managing data in regulated healthcare environment (HIPPA/PHI
) is a plus
Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Dell Boomi,
Informatica or Mulesoft is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, CS, or EE is ideal
