from Palmer Square, take Coach USA (100) to midtown or Academy
to midtown.
exit Port Authority Bus Terminal from 42nd Street entrance, get on the
NYAirport Service bus RIGHT at the front. choose LGA line.
that would be the easiest public way. only 1 transfer, non-stop (well,
almost, the airline bus will stop at GCT, for you to purchase tickets)
give 2 hrs for the first bus, and give 40 minutes - 1hr for the second bus.
depending on your time of day.
Check bus schedule and arrive at Palmer square -4, -5 hrs to your flight, to
be safe.
