I agree RHV is a better choice for learning.
KRHV has 2 runways which means better exposure to more complex patterns.
Also KE16 is just about 20 miles to the south, non-towered with very few
traffic. Great place for practicing maneuvers or pattern work without a lot
of traffic.
I don't have good authority on this but I heard KPAO is also slightly more
expensive. |

taildragger later, you should learn how to fly it. |

inherently unstable, so you have to control the airplane from engine start
to engine shutdown.
Nowadays many flight schools in the US don't even allow renters to solo a
taildragger, so you should absolutely take advantage of the fact that RHV
has so many taildraggers available for training and rental.

c**d 发帖数: 3888 | 7 You may have taildragger endorsement and think this gives you an advantage.
But for most people, I'd say this is unnecessary. It's like asking everyone
to use an SLR camera when most people just want to take pictures with their
phone.
The Air Force doesn't use taildraggers as trainers and they produce the
finest pilots.
I agree taildragger skills are useful to some extent. But there's a reason
why it's not required training by the FAA. The added skills comes at a cost
of frustration and prolonged training which can turn away a prospective
pilot.

during the initial training.

g*******e 发帖数: 96 | 9 I don't agree with your example.
SLR camera is much more expensive than point&shoot camera.
However, Taylorcraft and Aeronca Champ(or even a Citabria) are much cheaper
than most of the other trainers.
While you can save money and get better training at the same time, why would
you spend more money just to get an easier option?
