我想改动一下我的FXT的悬挂的软硬。
想上Coilover systems,这样就可以自己调节悬挂的高度和软硬。
这里有人这方面的经验吗?

what do you mean setting?
我想至少可以调节车的软硬和高度。
我看上了cusco的 street zero-A, 这个玩意可以加一个econ2 模块,这样在车里就可
以自己随便调节悬挂的软硬。
就是不知道是不是too good to be true?
我现在也不熟这种系统, 不知道每次调节之后是不是非要作balance,不然的话加个
econ2就没有意思了。因为我梦想中是,上高速调硬,在local或者light offroad的时
候调软。
如果还要跑到shop去balance,那么econ2这样即时调节,就没有什么意思了。

That looks like a good set. Seems to me that econ2 allows adjustment to
damping level on the fly, not the height. You will need a good alignment and
corner balance when you install the set, and alignment whenever you change
height. Change damping level will not affect alignment and balance, so you
will be okay. Since this set doesn’t allow rebound adjustment, you might
consider a stiffer spring rate for dual use.

高度这种需要空气悬挂吧
我记得很多车有sport mode都会把悬挂调硬,但是除了几个SUV的空气悬挂没见其他能
调高度的。

Thanks very much for the information. I will check with the manufacture
about the specs.
If econ2 can change damping on fly, wow, I will get it.

我说的这个和空悬不是一个东西。 这个高度可以自己调节但是不是实时的,需要下轮
子搞。
一般改的赛车都是用来降低底盘的,而不是升高。
我说的这个系统的damping倒是很handy,
硬悬挂在city street上跑简直就是受罪,而且不安全,因为经常没有traction,搞的
很floaty。
更不用提山路之类的地方了。

trust your car's engineers, they spent countless time and money to optimize
your oem suspension. they are more professional than any other aftermarket
brand unless your car is using for certain purpose. coilover setting is very
complex and inappropriate coilover setting cannot benefit the traction at
all.

I disagree. Stock is none adjustable and built on a low budget, so it is not
the optimal set up for individual needs. Rather, it is a compromise between
performance and budget at best. Suspension set up is full of compromises
as you can’t have everything in a single setup.

It is possible that some cheap (bellow 1000) aftermarket coilover systems
are worse than OEM. Worse here means it might compromise ride qualify too
much for performance, and make the trade-off seems unreasonable
But I think many decent coilover systems would be better than OEM, either
better in both ride quality and handling, or the trade-offs seems good. A
good example here is my KW V2 for 350Z (best money invested on the Z by the
way), the ride is better (stock Z is very bouncy), and handling is way
better (better than E92 M3 with competition package, M3 felt like a boat on
track compared with the modded 350Z).
I totally agree with you that a inappropriate coilover setting could be
worse. A good example is a recent youtube vedio on FRS lap time with
different mods. For one step, they swap in a KW (V3 or the clubsport), and
the car ends up worse lap time without correct setting. It took me many
track days to experiment the KW rebound setting to make the car to handle
the way I like :)
