We are making an offer for this house, which had original ceramic tile
floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. If these floors + grout/adhesive/
mastics contain asbestos, is it very costly/not safe to remove them when
hiring professionals?
This house also has some very long thin cracks in the basement floor. Our

为防止non friable变friable，要做abatement。铅的问题倒是要重视一点，exposure
route更多。 |

发帖数: 402 | 7 开墙算是简单的工程了，两个劳模同志一天下午就拆的七七八八。旧的furnace搬到了
attic里拿铁架钉在了屋顶上（其中还包括扩大attic的入口），所有的管道重新安装（
包括处理原来旧的石棉保暖材料）。这部分工加料是$2750，算是便宜的，一般来说
relocate furnace要3到5千，还不包括asbestos abatement等。
Water heater再三考虑还是没用把旧的移到车库里。原因是车库离两个厕所和厨房太远
，光新的管道就不少钱，而且热水也会上的慢。所以就买了新的tankless water
heater装到attic里，利用了大部分原来的管道。使用这么一段时间觉得和有tank的没
什么区别，热水也上的挺快的，不知道以后维护是不是比较麻烦…?
扩出来地方后就是后续的一系列重建工程，包括装洗衣房下水，通电，drywall，瓷砖
等等，我也体验到了老房子的破旧和装修的烧钱。还好做出来的效果还不错，屋子里有
了洗衣房也真的方便不少。饭厅到洗衣房装的是一面墙的毛玻璃拉门，这样从饭厅看起
来比较通透也采光好。从洗手间那边透过来的红色加上洗衣房的绿色也非常有新鲜感。 |

I just called the agency, and was told a permit is required and it will take
about 2 weeks. For the popcorn area between 500-1000 sq ft, the permit fee
is $570, and for the size of 1000-2000 sq ft, the fee will be $829. In my
case it should be $829.This morning I got the quote from the certified
popcorn removal professional, who was busy on a site, through the phone. The
$600 permit fee he said was just an estimate. |

BTW, fiberglass does not contain asbestos, so it is much safer to handle
fiberglass, although one should probably still wear a mask. It is irritating
to skin for sure, so protect your skin.

1. 看房
一天晚上，在网上随便溜达，看到这个房子照片和情况比较顺眼.
2014年2月14日情人节就约了卖家代理B （此人果真很装B,很多次气坏俺了）看这个房
子，开始越到2：30pm. 他说Ok。可是突然插了个房检， 赶紧给卖家代理B发信说要改
成下星期一。他没理我。过了一天，插进的房检改成了星期一，这样我就可以继续情人
节2:30pm 的看房计划，赶紧给他发信说改回来2/14 2：30pm 看房子。他说Ok。
可是2/14 日早上，我的Pc坏了，急死我了，给老板打电话报告情况，给IT 打电话找维
修，下午到办公室去了，给IT 的人修，折腾了一个下午。一次又一次地给B 打电话，
一次次地延期。最后问他可以 6pm 去看吗，最后B烦了“ Can't do,
Stop wasting my time. ”俺只能马上写信道歉。这当然是俺的错。告诉他第二天4-

们州发了 license 的，相对可靠一些
为了上班近，不得已看了一些50年代的老房子，房主翻修过，房子很温馨舒适，但我们
家有小小孩，所以有些担心大家说的石棉和铅的问题，请问请什么样的inspector能查
出来具体石棉和铅是不是超标？房主装修过两年多，是move-in ready的。
