這個星期，是很多UGC的Degree仔女們既RegDay，即係註冊日。「他們」即將拎到大學
學生證（張相通常都整到你包面），而如果「他們」是讀PolyU，他們會被逼做好多好
硬膠的FitnessTest同PsychoTest，同一時間，「他們」將會成為很多OCamp搞手及Hall
莊的目標，「他們」的煩惱，很多都圍繞住去唔去/去邊個OCamp，又或者係今年住唔住
/住邊個Hall等等。當然，如果「他們」的樣子俊俏/甜美，「他們」又會成為獸母/獸
父的目標（當然都可以角色對調），開展「他們」的A（X）toA（X+N）戀愛or/and性愛
生活。因為讀左咁多年書，通常就係為左唔洗再讀書。

澳洲的生活好在没有太多的黑墨穆，华人多、回国及其方便没有太多时差，我以前常常

我太太以前在国内是专业的小提琴手，曾经在专业乐团参加过演出。也在一家音乐学校
做签约的小提琴老师。专门教授孩子学琴，经验丰富，孩子进步很快；也曾经教过准备
在国内考级的高水平学生。

这边一般所谓tenure叫continuing,就是过了2或3年的probation,职位就终身了
所以最低的associate lecturer或者lecturer虽然不到senior lecturer/asso prof/
prof(那些被认为等同于北美的asso prof/prof)也可以终身
如果是3年,那么是属于合同,一般是用来顶替临时的教学需要(可能终身的那些人study
leave, long service leave,甚至休产假),到合同期满可能就辞退,不过一般来说如果
系里确实还需要,续签甚至转为终身的可能性很大
这里的副教授教授评选很难的,不象美国只要fac都是prof(至少assi prof)
所以某种意义上任教职难,但一旦任上了,就可以不思进取了 |

IS领域美国人在牛journal也表现一般吧,澳大利亚算可以了
不过如果导师是sn lect,可能还是不如跟教授好

这一点不奇怪，商学院哪个专业都是这样
任何系，如果没有人挖，薪水就按多年前签订的合同按一个百分比涨，多年前的薪水
比较底，而fresh phd的薪水是按当前市场供需决定的，比asso, full高一点完全
可能。但asso,full有很多其他渠道获得fresh拿不到的收入，所以和平共处得很好。
只不过商学院的市场供需导致fresh phd薪水特别高，所以突出一些。 |

好奇问一下，大家觉得Top10名校的Full Professor和Top10投行的Managing Director
，哪个在各自的领域成就和社会地位更高一些？更牛一些？或者说学术界的人和公司的
人互相跳槽的时候，大致应该瞄准什么样的位置。
学校的Asst Prof, Asso Prof和Full Prof与公司里的什么level比较接近？
我觉得Top10名校的Full Professor和Top10投行的Managing Director，或者
Fortune100的AVP级别应该差不多牛。
系主任／院长/院士 ＝ 投行的Senior MD或Partner, 大公司的VP
校长／诺奖 ＝ Executive Team/CXO

这人已经在美国二流大学做到asso prof了
英语烂就不用说了，逻辑、思路奇烂
最终问他一个问题，说他那样的做法，虽然降低计算复杂度，
但会牺牲很多精度，问有什么评论
他说这是industry practice，别人也这么做
这种答案，还不如不回答 |

经常看就会觉得人心不古，防人之心不可无，生命非常脆
弱和宝贵。实际上这些宣传却很大程度上起到了保护生命，
以及约束人和人之间行为的作用。
电视报本市某个大学拿了笔捐款，那么大学周围的"Asso of
*** Univeristy Neighbors"之类的组织就会万分警惕，该
校是否要大兴土木。*** U要是有个什么
施工方案，这个组织不点头，是绝无可能开工的。
政府为了倡导公交扩建地铁，要是沿线的居民反对，工程肯
定要被拖延，直到双方的妥协达成。
反正美国人觉得身边该发愁的琐事够多了，没太多精力去管
别的，新闻里世界大事都放后头。至于国家领导人，各种
娱乐节目也是争相取消挖苦，夸大洋相，让人觉得谁都可以
去当个政客糊弄老百姓。
中国的新闻主要报道国家的某项成就又受到了外国（人）的
赞誉，国家和省市级别的某项建设又取得了重大成就，是1949
年是的＊＊＊＊倍，人民生活水平不断提高，各级领导如何
采取措施解决人民生活中的各种问题，各行业如何提高业务
和服务态度，还动不动就举行“向人民承诺＊＊＊＊”之类
的，可实际上商店里连退个假货都基 |
