There are numerous MP runing, for example, 15m@MP in 18m run, usually

recommend you to run the last few miles to last 15 mile at higher speed

Nowadays I much more prefer to follow a precise plan. I have every day of my calendar marked. If it says 10
miles today, I'll run no less than 10 miles and no more than 10.5 miles.
Like Baiji, I also use the pace of my runs, especially mid-long runs which I run with a relaxed moderate effort,
to evaluate my fitness level.

When I first came up with the word "burn", it was a self-serving, arrogant "
magic word". It was about me
against the course, me against the clock. I came to realize that while it
could work for something like a 5K, it
would not work for the marathon. I must now steal Baiji and Ryan Hall's
magic word, "Ole", for that the
marathon is more than a person running for himself. The marathon is about
you running with God, and he
shall give you the strength beyond your imagination. Amen.

you are absolutely right. I have a friend with a BQ time but forgot to
register last year....
Baiji, I would suggest you find another race instead of SFM. SFM is not only
hilly, but might also be too crowded to run at your own pace!
my friends said they can only run at 14-15 pace on the GG bridge.

我的确高兴,但是和Baiji那完全封闭的几十英里的trail相比,或者米人们住在海边的
沙滩trail相比,俺是个大大的土包子呢

我本来也有点动心想跑这个, 毕竟跟家不是很远, 不过上网研究了一下,
说这个比赛半马人特别多, 15000人? 而且混在一起起跑, 路也比较窄,
跑不开, 就又比较犹豫, baiji你去年跑这个有这个感觉么, 说前10迈
基本跑不开。。

The runners on this board that have progressed the fastest, Baiji and
Tuoniao, both train at high mileage and focus on one race at a time. I gotta
say that I don't have their patience of executing 24-week training plans. I
can only tolerate at most 8 weeks between races.:)

大家都有目共睹你训练的时候有多刻苦!只是你和baiji他们的style不一样,但是结果
是一样的啊,都是迅速的不断提高。
我来版上也一年了,就我自己还在原地踏步。咱不跟别人比,因为天赋不一样,但是我
知道自己没进步是因为没付出努力,所以对自己很不满意。

参加比赛的那种 HIGH 是很容易上瘾的, 不过没有比赛又很难有 training 的目标.
个人觉得与其抱着每赛必 PR 的期望, 因而容易产生对自己不满, 不如完完全全地
enjoy the race no matter what time you got.
只要你能站在起跑线上, 就已经比身边大多数人都健康了, 更不用说冲线时的那份喜悦
和冲动.
No more whining, kids!

大家都有目共睹你训练的时候有多刻苦!只是你和baiji他们的style不一样,但是结果
是一样的啊,都是迅速的不断提高。

一直以来,就发现AM上面关于心跳的一些总结对我自己不是很适用,跑快跑慢数据相差
不大,曾经以为是HRM的佩戴位置问题,后来询问了几位跑友,也都是戴胸部附近。我
应该也没错。
最近看baiji发的帖子,他基本过渡为以心跳来衡量和指导训练,就想如果以我的心跳
作为依据,估计也就不知道怎么练了。。。
两组数据如下,一个是2月份的SF Half,跑得很慢,另外一个是bay to breakers 12k
,3个月内,训练质量也没有明显的改善。
2次Pace差别显而易见,但是心跳实在差不了多少,坦白地说,我跑全马也就180-190的
心跳,所以比赛中,我也根本不看HRM的数据,都是跟着感觉跑。 RNR San Diego临近
,又要瞎跑了。。。不知道何时是尽头。
各位帮分析下,给点建议。

I am glad that you did not take a suicidal approach, which is what I am
worried about-:)
Have you thought about doing several weeks of base training, which almost
does not include any speed work except with a low heart rate?
When I was running with baiji yesterday, I am very impressed by his patience
, which he said is similar to the way Mark Allen trains-:)
I would highly recommend including the base training for a marathon-:)

When I run with whx whose pace for a recovery run is around 7:30, I was
moved when he said" there is no better way to start a day than an easy run",
for which he has to run with my pace around 9:16-:(
When I run with baiji yesterday, whose most pace for a long run is around 7:
20, we run with pace 10:20...He comforted me by saying "the slower, the
better for his base training"
突然觉得自己就是个捣乱的,好在大家也都脾气好,能容忍我。我自己再努力跑快一些

from that perspective, still confirms baiji's point, dio has huge potential!
Also, i am so impressed by his 400M, only 1-2 seconds slower than his best
time. if he runs in a race with proper training, will still keep his
performance close to his personal best.

最近實在不像話,我每次訓練春天的馬拉松,跑完以後都開始放長假,結果一夜(實際
上是一個夏天)
回到解放前。我其實現在已經回到解放前了。
特地下定決心,跑步,騎車,爭取每個禮拜最少運動5-6天,天天跑不敢吹這個牛皮,
今天早上就睡過
了。
前天特地剃了個光頭,今天去辦公室,人家都沒人出來我這個skinhead.
baiji跑10月份的馬拉松,我基本不會去,但是希望能去助跑。
