Chile: A first look

It’s been a two-day trek, but I finally made it to Chile late last night.
It was dark when we flew in, so it was hard to assess the effects of the
earthquake. The few people I was able to talk to said there were some areas
that had been greatly affected. They also noted that much of Santiago looks
OK on the outside but many buildings suffered a lot of structural damage
that can’t be seen.

这一次在准备行程的时候，我偶然听人提起，说在南美洲的话，不用专程坐船去南极，
也可以看到King Penguin（当然是野生的，不是什么动物园圈养的）。我当时就觉得很
奇怪，再怎么说，我也不觉得我会在之前几次准备行程查资料的时候，会漏掉这么有趣
的东西。不过仔细放狗搜一下，确实可以发现零星的King penguin tour。最后根据我
的调研结果，这个tour一般是从Chile的Punta Arenas出发，早上7点到8点出发，晚上9
点回到Punta Arenas。不过关于这个看King Penguin的地点，还真是费了好一番功夫才
狗到的。网上tour operator只说是在Chilean Tierra del Fuego，因此早上从Punta
Arenas开车出来，要先开个2-3小时车，然后坐轮渡，前后1小时，然后再开几个小时的
车才能到企鹅的所在地。后来我在tripadvisor上，才看到有人说这群King Penguin大

全面真实地描述和分析很少，笔者也很难达到这一高度，除了水平有限，缺少可靠资料
也是个大问题。不管怎样，丑媳妇总是要见公婆，抛砖引玉，就算给各位方家提供个进

如果某个律所或者某个petitioner在一个快递包裹里放了多份申请人的材料，那USCIS
不拆包，只给此包裹assign一个编号去抽签，不是乱套了吗。
再有，今年USCIS官网特别强调了要在I-129表首页上方空白处用红笔标明adv或reg 如
果他们早已决定不拆包来分类，那还要求申请人写上那一笔干吗，原文如下。

我拿着单子去投递的店里找小二，遇到个挺负责的小二，一直帮我联系。查到把我的包
裹给寄到CHILE了，我估计他们应该还是有另外一个系统，比如什么送错口岸的记录，
反正就是我不问，估计那个包裹就扔到CHILE口岸了，后来帮我安排的从新投递，历时1
个多月才收到。中间包裹在CHILE口岸一直都没有在网上查询显示过，包裹到中国口岸
才有第2次更新。 |

新记录的，只有expree才有记录。但我前2个星期刚寄了一箱，不过用的是USPS
Priority middle flat box，那个网上每天都有更新记录的，而且第7天就已经收到了
。难道用自己的箱子就没有记录了？还是包裹真被他们搞丢了，所以根本就没有记录了
。。。。。

1) Chile quake is not in a heavily populated zone. There’s plenty of
infrastructure (eg photos of mangled roads) but luckily the big population
areas got the shakes, not the collapses.
2) Building standards in Chile are much higher, not only because of
supposed wealth differences but also precisely because it’s in an
earthquake zone. Same applies to Peru, western Argentina etc. Those areas
are poorer than “up and coming” Chile and care just as much about building
standards.

再前阵子看了聂鲁达的诗集《Stones Of Chile》，后来最近又看了他的《Art of Bird
s》。其实聂鲁达不是以写这些诗出名的，他最出名的诗显然是那些情诗。我是一开始看
了一本他的选集，看完之后觉得选集太不过瘾太不够意思了，所以决定去一本诗集一本
诗集的找来看。Stone of Chile和Art of Birds这两个集子甚至在wiki里面聂鲁达的bi
bliography里都没有列出来。我纯粹作为一个博物学爱好者的兴趣去翻看。结果一看才
知道，聂鲁达是个真正意义上的大自然爱好者啊！
Stones of Chile里其实不都是关于石头的诗歌，里面夹杂着一些动物植物的。当然，要
去写石头真是一件很困难的事情。 |

这次出行，与其说是走走停停的旅行，倒不如说是毕业前的最后疯狂……总共一个多月
的白天赶路看景，晚上读paper写paper的日子里，我从美东转悠到五大湖区，走过草原
地带，闲逛于Rockies山中，最后来到了太平洋海岸。全程一万多mi，我的小车居然没
在路上给我找过麻烦（虽说刚回家就花了几百大洋修车……）
贴图片之前，先贴一首歌~走在冬天的风景里，就好像流连在一个冰与火的童话世界中
。好几次在Rockies的日出时分，我的脑海里都莫名其妙的回响起这个调子。本来觉得

再前阵子看了聂鲁达的诗集《Stones Of Chile》，后来最近又看了他的《Art of Bird
s》。其实聂鲁达不是以写这些诗出名的，他最出名的诗显然是那些情诗。我是一开始看
了一本他的选集，看完之后觉得选集太不过瘾太不够意思了，所以决定去一本诗集一本
诗集的找来看。Stone of Chile和Art of Birds这两个集子甚至在wiki里面聂鲁达的bi
bliography里都没有列出来。我纯粹作为一个博物学爱好者的兴趣去翻看。结果一看才
知道，聂鲁达是个真正意义上的大自然爱好者啊！
Stones of Chile里其实不都是关于石头的诗歌，里面夹杂着一些动物植物的。当然，要
去写石头真是一件很困难的事情。如果聂鲁达知道攀岩就好了，如果他知道原来一块石
头，一条路线都可以起名字，那他一定会从石头那里获得更多的灵感。
Art of Birds里则全部是关于鸟类的诗歌！最让我震撼的是：我以前不管读哪一本诗歌
集，总觉得一个诗人其实写一首好诗就足以让他留名了， |

发帖数: 14447 | 40 本文最下面列了两组数据，第一组数据是1961-1978年世界各国GDP年增速的平均值，数
据来源是世行。中国年均GDP增幅是5.22%，在这104年个国家里排到44位，算是中上。
作为对比，同期世界各国GDP增幅平均为4.96%。
也就是说，在中国仍然搞计划经济的这18年里，在中国拿出大量人力物力财力开发大杀
器的时候，在中国大搞阶级斗争文化革命的这个年代里，中国经济增长速度依然是高于
世界大多数国家的。如果这样的经济也能被形容为“陷入经济崩溃边缘”，那岂不是全
世界大多数国家都已经掉悬崖里摔死几遍了？
再来看第二组数据，同样是世界银行的数据。选了1980-2008这28年。中国GDP年均增速
高达9.91%，是世界同期平均增速的近三倍，在全球所有国家里遥遥领先。所以说，改
革开放也不是说一片黑暗，光看这个数据就很喜人嘛，至少优于1961-1978年期间的表
现。所以说，批判改革开放的时候，也要承认改革开放的确是有成绩的。当然现在的突
出矛盾是，没有人要否认改开导致经济总量增长，只是对这个经济增长的代价巨大感到
