个老印每个 item 基本都是打的最低分，还写了好多的 comments 。我那个课上的绝对
没有那么差的，否则也不会其他人一致好评了。 这个家伙上课的时候挺爱问问题的，
我也对他挺好的，分数给的都不低，平时对他挺好的。我不知道老印是不是都是这么
mean 还是我碰到了极品？更讨厌的是，这小子这学期还在上我的课。 |

我们系就我一中国人，其他老师的语言功底都比我强，我想evaluation会比我高些。看
到很多学生强烈质疑我的英语水平，真的很打击我的积极性。这个可不是短时间能补上
来的。
感觉本科生的课相处难教很多，真的感觉英语水平不够啊。学生有时问个问题，很基础
，属于常识性的，我都解释很费劲。倒是研究生的课，讲讲公式，举个例子做些计算，
就感觉容易些。 |

认真负责、准备充分、讲课条理清晰的老师evaluations不会差，对于绝大多数学生而
言，这样的老师即使不怎么幽默不怎么可爱他至少也会给你4分。
插科打诨这些忽悠学生讨好学生的小把戏可以锦上添花，但如果老师水平不行或者明显
不负责，闲话说得越多反倒越容易招人反感。 |

LZ's evaluation is not bad for the first time. As I know, quite some APs got

plug in numbers.
A few students may want to know how to get the formulas. In my opinion, they

just want to know some hand waving arguments, not the rigorous arguments.
If you talk too much about the rigorous derivation, most students will hate
that and give

所以online evaluation可能把所有人的评价都降低了，那么平均值也就低了。

保持在平均值附近就好了。上课时对学生用点心，课后多和学生交流，给分公平

多个问题，让学生选strongly agree, agree,neutral直到not applicable。summary
report也是排的选各个category的percentage.比如，一门课有10个学生，summary
report最终会显示Q1有几人选strongly agree,percentage是多少；几人选agree,
percentage是多少之类的。最终也没有个分数。很好奇大家常说的3/5，4/5是如何来的？
根据我们的情况，我自己尝试算了一下，给strongly agree 5分，agree 4分，到not
applicable 0分，这样算下来，平均3.6/5。这样的成绩对新ap来说teaching算是合格

better job and was totally confident. I did give them a fairly difficult
exam but curved the result so most of them got a grade higher than they
actually deserved. Now I have the evaluation - it was much worse than last
time, completely embarrassing!
I am so frustrated right now, just want to quit teaching once for all. |

freshman course of over 100 students, it was actually quite decent.
But this embarrassing score has totally ruined my day! There is just no way

in the beginning of my career, i got not good eval, i was mad too, because i
thought i cared so much and worked so much, but later, actually one year
later, when i read it again, i DO found my own problem. There are outliers
there for students eval, but a good portion of it makes sense.

evaluation悲喜交加（好的很好，差的很差），后来看了professor的，立即就高兴了
，因为给他们的评语简直是一片骂声，相比之下我都是好的。。。不过我们学校
research很重要，那几个教授都是tenure了的，估计也不在乎教学的评语了。 |

生，自恃甚高。我班里就有一个学生，作业考试非用一种以前学的及其复杂无比的方法
解题，而不是用我上课教的方法，上课老问一些不着边的问题。他做的对，我还是给他
full credit。但是他觉得上课没有没有freedom of expression。
我原来总是一直坚持原则，希望学生把所学的都掌握。但是几次教下来觉得我需要作让
步了。这样的要求对成绩好的学生来说没问题，但是成绩差的学生就考得很差，就使得
一些学生非常喜欢，一些学生非常痛恨。而teaching evaluation是最忌讳出现这样极
端的学生评语的。1/10的学生不喜欢就会把分数拉低一大截，即使有更多的学生给5分
也不管用。 |
