My PhD is from Molecular Genetics and Genomics. I did some human genetics
research in graduate school and functional genomics (NextGen Seq) during my
postdoc.
工资is the same as residents/clinical fellows in the GME of Medical School. |

几个小时手机都忘了看一下。干postdoc吃饭经常几个老中聚一桌，吃饭能吃俩小时，
从国家大事侃到鸡毛蒜皮。干resident经常几个小时刷的一下就过去了，根本就忘了吃
饭。

/hour. A couple of my colleagues are doing this, but most of them do not.
Since I had some experience before, the recruiting companies have been
mailing me all kinds of moonlight opportunities. However, first of all, my
wife would not let me do it since "it is more important to spend your
already limited time with your kids." Second, the state I am in would not
grant my permanent licence since it requires 2 years' GME e |

The strange thing is they attached a letter saying their GME administration
is on probation. And the coordinator asked me in the email about the H1 visa
issue, it looks like they don't like that because there is limited numbers
of H1 visa to be issued every year. But, if I remember correctly, are most
University programs exempted from this H1b cap ? Just try to find an
appropriate answer to the program. |

office, and they think a certificate of completion from my medical school
will do the job. I will therefore get an official translation of the

Additionally， I asked a current CMG attending practising in MO and he told
me he just wrote sth like ""When I graduated from medical school in 19**,

residency training is considered initial an h1b petition instead of
extension, right?
2, Do people here need H1b all prefer use premium processing service? The
GME office of my future employer suggests using it if I file the application
in less than 10-12 weeks. Now there are still 3 months but I am not sure
how long is the regular processing time.

time outside of your medical school country while enrolled as a student (
prior to receiving your medical degree). If you have spent more than 12
weeks away from your medical school country, you are ineligible for training
in New York State.

I don't have a list of the medical stuff you will need to learn. There
is SO much to learn in intern year, there is no way to make a list. The
Washington Manual is a great resource to start with, for the medical
issues. The real magic in intern year is getting a sense of whom is sick
and who isn't, and that ain't in any book.

我们那个GME office给我寄个第一个文件就是一堆买房广告，全是今年毕业的
residents要离开要出卖的房子，而且据称比他们买时的价格都低了不少。不过我们还
是比较保守，暂时不打算买房了。已经决定就租那家appartment,其实也是没有多少选
择，既要学校好又要离医院近，这两条是最重要的，其他的就将就了。既然以前有和我
们情况类似的CMG resident在那里住过，至少不会是无法住的那种吧。反正看不看我也
只能住那家了，其余条件稍好的学区房至少要远4-5miles,对我这种讨厌commute的人来
说少1 mile都是好的。
