A 21-year-old driver was killed and a young child in her car was seriously
injured in a head-on crash after she drifted across the centerline of
Highway 211, according to police.

interstate I-XX一般应该叫interstate expressway,而US xx 和state route一般叫high way,
3位数的interstate 是支路，如果第一位是偶数，这条支路的两头都可以汇上一条主要的interstate. 如果第一位是奇数，此支路只有一头汇上interstate主路。比如DC附近的I-495和I-395.
3位数的US highway也经常表示是一条支路。总的来看us highway编号比较乱，按方向的顺序不明显
state route各州命名规则不同，有的州也模仿interstate。有的州命名原则似乎是尽量和us route一致（比如MA?)有的州在state route之下还有第四级编号公路county route,一般为四位数。而很多州似乎是尽量不一致以避免混乱。毕竟很多人喜欢说走xx公路，一般不太区分是什么类型的路。（这一点似乎美国人比中国人稍微注意一点）
US highway 和state route可能会不连续。
有的interstate和us highway的繁忙支路会在最前面加bus |

JEFFERSON COUNTY -- A Fenton man was killed Monday night when he lost
control of his pickup and was thrown out along Missouri Highway 30 in
Jefferson County.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victim as Lewis W. Ludwig, 38, of

You can not reach 北冰洋 by driving to the end of the Dalton Highway!
At the end of the Dalton Highway it will become BP Oil's restricted area and
you will have to turn around!
You will not be able to reach Prudhoe bay.
Also, you need to make sure your rental car company allow you to travel on
the Dalton Highway. Most of the companies does not allow that at all. |

这几天一直没注意这新闻，今天看到是华人才注意一下
才发现当天我们就在附近，大概距离不到10分钟的车程
那天biker很多，大概一两百辆，分布的很长，视频上的都只是一小部分
他们从纽约军舰付近上highway（我们在车队的尾部）,
一上highway车速就很慢，20多迈，
没多久后面来了几辆警车和救护车，也很挣扎的想往前开。
之后整个车阵几乎停住了，有个骑高高的那种登山机车的，
之前钻到前面去，没多久又逆向往回骑
很短的路程开了两个小时，终于有个exit
(孩子们都在大哭，我从前座爬到后座去喂奶啊换尿布)
后来才发现警方把整个highway block，可能是处理那个被压过的
我觉得路虎男下公路是对的，因为后面都塞住了，警车只能速度很慢的往前开
如果在highway被拖出车外暴打，也不会有证人
这个路虎男抗压性很不错的，

bay then 35 then to highway 1 south, the view is beautiful, it should take
about 2 hours on highway 1 to Monterey, the view on the way is very
beautiful but this will be the view you will see the whole way if you keep

发帖数: 161 | 18 7/11 早 7:40 左右从家里salt lake city 出发，两个人5天的东西包括刚好塞满一车
。必要的物品有：睡袋（0度左右，晚上的黄石挺冷），帐篷，小冰箱，燃气灶，气，
防熊喷雾（黄石是bear country 有备无患），羽绒服，汽车充电器。因为要去大提顿
所以走南门，路线是从salt lake city 走高速 I-80 E，然后转highway US 89 N，路
上是典型的西部风光：草原，荒漠，孤独的小镇，成群的牛羊。一路走走停停，没有太
多的赶路压力。出来看看沿途的风光也会很满足。
下午经过南边的小镇Jackson后开始进入大提顿。黄石和大提顿的票是一起的25刀，如
果要这两个公园的年票就是50，所有国家公园的年票是80。我们走的是大提顿的东线，
准备回程走西线。在盐湖城待久了，雪山湖泊，粗犷柔美都有，所以来到大提顿其实不
是特别的震撼到。途中去了Jackson Dam，之后就正式进入黄石了。然后见到了第一只
动物，muse，一般见到一堆人围观，各种长枪短炮的时候就得停下来，准是有动物。晚

第二天因为时差的关系起床很早（与东岸4小时时差），收拾收拾开始上路。这一天的
目的地是Fairbanks，之所以去那里是为了参加Barrow Tour，那个tour也有从
Anchorage出发的，但是实在太贵，而且开车北上应该是一路风光， 也就不再犹豫了。
从Anchorage 到Fairbanks，有东西两条线。西线比较近，途经Denali NP，大概
360mile, 东线是向东北走Glenn highway，然后在Glennallen转上Richardson Highway
, 430mile。我们选择了西线，因为不想放弃Glen Highway这条著名的风景高速，但也
因此错过了Denali NP南边的Denali State Park。
Glen Highway 开始时风物平平，以至我们在看见第一个略有姿色的小湖时，立刻跳下
来卡察了一番。那个湖在公路边上，湖边一座小山，山上若干残雪，乍一看不错，但水
浅山平，稍嫌粗糙。湖附近似有一公路桥，桥下白浪滔滔， 是很适合漂流的Matanuska
River。

提问帖，内心还是激动不已， 现在还是让我来自问自答吧，希望对以后想走一趟这条
路的同学有所帮助。
我们在阿拉斯加全部行程2800 miles， 整个行程的亮点之一就是 Dalton highway，能
让你深刻的感受到 阿拉斯加的 广袤与壮丽，尤其是北极圈内的生机勃勃，和自己以前
想象的不毛之地简直是天壤之别。
说说路况和车子吧，整个Dalton highway， 直到Coldfoot 路况说实话算是相当不错的
，超出我们的想象，开到 40 mph 基本不成问题，但是要注意 躲避路上的坑 绕过较大
的石块。从coldfoot 出来，居然还有一段相当好的路面，我住在NJ， 那段路如果再宽
两三倍，就能和parkway 最好的路段比了。过了之后就完全变成了石子路，在靠近
deadhorse 的某些路段还在施工从新铺碎石，有些路段碎石块比较大，只能10 mph 慢
行，怕尖锐的石头扎破轮胎。 到最后一段还是可以接受的，不过30 mph 比较保险，而

天空还必须足够晴朗。机票是提早了几个月里程换的，在传说中天气最好的二、三月份
里找了一个没有月光的周末，希望到时候能有好运气。周末的极光强度预报直到星期五
早上才出来，周五、周六晚上都是坑爹的1级，但周日、周一两个晚上爆发到了4级。看
到预报后的第一件事就是给AA打电话，把周日晚上的回程机票推迟到周一，给自己留下
三次看极光的机会。周五下班飞到Fairbanks，降落时已将近晚上十一点。Chandalar
Ranch是我找到的唯一一家、肯直接从机场接人的旅行社，又坐了四、五十分钟的汽车
，到达小高地之上的木屋时、已是星期六凌晨。
两层的木屋正门朝北，门前有一块非常平整开阔的雪地；平地北边被一道很矮的山梁围
住，完全不影响观商，还可以作为照片中不错的前景。地形相当优越，唯一的美中不足
是离Fairbanks还是太近，西面城市的灯光在夜色中汇成一片不容忽视的橘黄。雪地上
三五成群，汇集着不少人和脚架。一道虹桥形状的极光从西往东，在空中打了几个卷、
跨过北边天空。

Randy Steven Kraft是一名美国连环杀手。虽然他被控谋杀了16人，但是他涉嫌谋杀了
至少67人。在1971-1983年期间，在加利福尼亚的高速公路上发生了很多命案。所有的
受害人都是年轻男子和少年，大多数受害人生前都遭受了折磨和X虐待。一些人还被焚
尸。许多受害人生前饮用了大量的酒和镇定剂。但直到1983年5月14日，Randy Steven
Kraft才被捕获。他还用密码为所有受害人编写了一个名单。在1988年，法庭判定他无
罪，但是他自己供认了所有罪行，并被判死刑，但尚未行刑。他现在还在监狱的死亡名
单上。

围观，点击量顷刻之间上百万之多。当然评论永远要比原视频有意思。
从各地 2000 多评论里挑了 130 条出来，选的标准基本是排除了重复的，纯表赞叹或
纯开骂无多少内容的、跑题跑太远的，还有那些虽然 ID 显示国外但看主页似乎咱自家
留学生或华裔的评论因为时间所限也没翻。被标注推荐比较多的基本都入选了。红色部

的交通和信号灯。小区里的道路如果不是私人的driveway而是public accessed
话按照各州的法律也属于highway。 |

highway 在普通老百姓白话里就是泛指公路，什么等级的，有没有红率灯都可以这么叫。
如果你要抠字眼，可参考highway capacity manual,是国家规范，有公路等级和说法的
定义， 一般可分为：
urban street （interrupted flow)
freeway (uninterrupted flow, 全封闭，只有ramp上下）
单车道或多车道highway，uninterrupted flow
但是普通老百姓包括记者不了解这些，所以报纸没有错，也不会引起误解。。。。。。 |
