Day 1 Boston – Anchorage
早上爬起来去赶飞机，拿着一堆东西先坐公车再倒地铁接着坐机场shuttle结果又坐过
站，好不容易赶到check-in counter离起飞只剩一个小时左右。托运的时候被告知要到
另外一个terminal 托运行李，匆忙坐小电瓶车过去, drop off checked luggage 接着
排长队过安检的时候已经快要开始登机了。当时心里就有点急，怕万一赶不上飞机，之
后的connection flight 就麻烦了。万幸过完一切手续之后时间还有节余，直到坐上飞
机的那一刻，悬着的心才放了下来。
坐了将近14小时飞机，中间转了一趟，终于在晚上7点半到达阿拉斯加首府安克雷奇。
到的时候太阳还高高的挂在天上，晴空万里，由候机室向外望去可以看见远处连绵起伏
的山脉，心情不由得有些雀跃。去National 取订好的compact SUV，车子就在

发帖数: 14763 | 6 呵呵，都别争了，freeway不是highway的反义词，而是tollway的反义词。一个免费，
一个收费，都算highway。老中说highway时，心里想的都是controlled-access
highway,主要是大家去的都是发达地区，谁到美国来，愿意去那些鸟不拉屎的地方？但
在那些地方，其实也不用真那么荒凉的地方，highway也是没有ramp的，直接左转右转
就上来了。美国很大，各地差异也很大，大家就不要互相指错了。
英美历史上的hiway，也就是达到秦始皇的车同轨的标准，就可以算了。大概马车平均
时速有个10来迈，就很high了。 |

才发现当天我们就在附近，大概距离不到10分钟的车程
那天biker很多，大概一两百辆，分布的很长，视频上的都只是一小部分
他们从纽约军舰付近上highway（我们在车队的尾部）,
一上highway车速就很慢，20多迈，
没多久后面来了几辆警车和救护车，也很挣扎的想往前开。
之后整个车阵几乎停住了，有个骑高高的那种登山机车的，

很短的路程开了两个小时，终于有个exit
(孩子们都在大哭，我从前座爬到后座去喂奶啊换尿布)
后来才发现警方把整个highway block，可能是处理那个被压过的
我觉得路虎男下公路是对的，因为后面都塞住了，警车只能速度很慢的往前开
如果在highway被拖出车外暴打，也不会有证人
这个路虎男抗压性很不错的，
他老婆有没有尖叫不晓得，但孩子肯定是大哭的,
这种情况还能有这样表现，没有慌掉,真的很不容易了 |

更高。
印度是连乡村田埂路都算在公路里，所以它不到中国和美国1/3的国土面积，公路总里
程和中国差不多。但实际道路和其它基础设施更狗屎一般，因为农村公路占它424万总
里程一半以上，印度道路硬化率还不到50%，因为它把乡村田埂路都算进去。可见不同
标准的统计比较就是狗屎。

发帖数: 40 | 15 今天在高速辅路中间Lane开车，突然被一个从高速下来的大妈在前面高速横插了过来。
我的问题是，在高速辅路中间的lane行使的车，还要yield高速下来的车吗？我以前的
理解是只是靠近高速那条辅路开的车才需要yield高速下来的车，因为高速下来的车从
边上lane再插到中间lane应该算普通的变道了。但是有人说所有的辅路access lane都
要yield。德州法律是这样说的，似乎是所有辅路道都要yield.

上周的一个下午有空，到离家10多分钟的一个保时捷dealership试驾，接待我的是一个
黑人sales, 叫做Jereme。先问了我现在开的车型，打算什么时候买车，和想试驾的车
型。我告诉他了我现在开的车型，说想试驾Cayman S, 自动挡。复印了我的驾照后，就
带我上了一辆Cayman S， 告诉我，他先做驾驶员带我开一圈，然后我自己开。他开的
过程中简单介绍了一下车的配置，手自一体变速的feature, blah blah blah. 绕了一
圈后回到dealership, 他说我可以单独开出去，试完了后在下午关门前开回来就可以了。
调了一下座椅，车里内饰比较简洁，做工挺细致，八万多的车，没看到什么豪华的功能
。 先开到dealership 前的highway试试highway的表现，这辆车在highway上很灵活，
换lane很轻松，不过engine声比较大，开短时间很让人兴奋，highway长途开 |

OMG! There is a reason for yield sign instead of stop sign! You should nevr
stop on the ramp to a highway --- since cars behind you are probably
speeding up to merging into highway. If you do stop on the ramp, you
probably will get in this type of road rage, or even worse -- accidents,
more frequently.
Yield means that the traffic on the highway already has the right of the way.

故事：
晚上10点30分去机场接同事，就要到他家所在小区的时候被埋伏在路边的警察抓了。理
由是double yellow lines不能U turn，具体路况见附件图片。蓝色箭头是我行车路线
；红方块是警车潜伏处；红色条柱是现在路中间有的隔离杆。他给开的code 是21651b
，收到罚单是$405。
我想argue一下几点：
A、罚单code有误: 应该是21651a，而不是21651b。a要比b轻得多，估计能少罚一半。b
貌似是走到双向车道的逆行错误车道，而a2写的是不能U turn，所以应该是a。

）行驶并右拐（上 State Highway south 方向）。
红色的地方就是撞的location。
LZ 在 1 楼说 “只有一边有side walk，是我骑车方向的左边”。也就是说，LZ 不在
sidewalk 上骑车，在 state highway 的上逆向骑车。对不对？（state highway 显然

再补充一点，这车左边盲区很大，回头也看不到，因为被车门挡住，所以得往前倾看后视镜里的图像才能避免盲区，昨天回家的时候两条高速merge硬是没看到一辆烤肉，结果差点撞上 |

3月份开同样的一段highway，开75mph的时候，油耗大概有个31，6月份再开，车上的东
西装的更多了，还开着空调，同样75就能到34了，我的车是07的impala。
分析一下原因，因为跑highway，最大的阻力来自空气阻力。而夏天温度高，空气稀薄
，冬天温度低，空气厚重，阻力大！不要小瞧了这个空气阻力的差别，可以注意一下，
北方的机场，在同等条件下的跑道比南方的要短！就是因为空气重，阻力大。
所以夏天适合自驾游，冬天为了省钱，寒假出去就做飞机吧！！！

I was quite slow in merging and after merging because it was very dark and I

not familiar with that area. My guess is that I blocked the police car. But
I merged to the left lane from the parking status in the roadside meter
parking. Does this really fit the code:

Four people are in custody in connection with an investigation into a fatal
crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate 15 near Moapa, the Nevada Highway
Patrol tweeted.
