. They would have spoiled if not sterile. On the other hand, absence of
any insects in a facility may mean excessive use of toxic pesticides and
toxic chemicals. At least Wei-Chuan is not using excessive toxic pesticides

Pest control最严重的听说就是厨房和一楼厕所间的外墙，这种阴暗、或湿活干、不湿
不干之处是蚂蚁之类的最爱。俺也是从Pest control guy那儿听的一耳朵。
在蚂蚁、蟑螂进驻外墙前，每年喷一到两次home defense insect spray在房屋的外墙
下部内侧以及重要入口门窗是防治办法之一。
如果已经进入外墙，要么花钱叫pest control除（破墙？）。要么对外继续喷insect
spray, 对内部已经打入的蚂蚁用Terro全歼。可能要花点儿时间。
室内保持敞亮、干燥也会阻止pest扩散入屋。 |

夏天来了，宝宝妈们都多了个共同的烦恼－与蚊虫的大战。
宝宝妈们一见面就爱问：“你家宝宝没让蚊子咬吧？”接着大家开始交流起对付蚊虫的
方法来。
无论什么方法，一是绝不能有毒副作用，给宝贝造成其他的伤害。二是效果显著，简便
易行。三是经济实惠。
防蚊先关闭蚊子的生存空间：
孙子曰：知己知彼，百战不殆，蚊子的生存繁殖环境必须有水，检查家里盆盆罐罐、下
水道、花盆等有积水处，有盖子的盖上，能换水的勤换水。防止积水，不给蚊子生存环
境。
避蚊工具的选择：
首选是蚊帐：夏季为幼儿防蚊，应尽量使用蚊帐。但是空间狭小，宝宝不小心帖在蚊帐
上被叮的事时有发生，这是蚊帐的不足。
捕蚊灯：捕蚊灯对于夜间活动的蚊虫效果不错。
台扇驱蚊法：蚊子晚上趋光，故家中关掉所有的灯后使用有指示灯的台扇并大角度摇摆
，扇叶会打死许多蚊子。
熏烟驱蚊法：在房间内，用一些木屑，最好是有芳香味的木屑，放在铁罐里，在木屑上
放几块烧红的炭，再放一些干的柑桔、橙或柚子皮在面上，燃烧后会散发出十分强烈的
气味，蚊子闻到就会“退避三舍”。

I just got back from skiiing in Lake tahoe. The scenery is amazing. I have
never seen such beautiful scene in Hong Kong.
If you go to parks in Hong Kong, there is always small insects. In US, it is
clean and insects free. |

最高的公路，到Mt.Evans。我会从东海岸飞过来，第一天早上抵达，第四天晚上离开。

种菜，养花的养花，我只能一边眼热，只奢求家里的果树，花草们可别全都离我而去了。
言归正传，首先请教山农，寒山等果神，关于有这么几棵树
1． 这是一棵什么树啊？
它夹在我家的草坪和邻居家的水泥地之间，还那么小，感觉有点委屈它了。要怎么照料
啊？
2. 我们后院的斜坡上有一棵dwarf 的桔棵（橙，桔，橘不知）的树，大概1米多一点，
可是树型不好，好像又被insects吃，又有fungi 的问题。如图所示，叶片被谁吃掉一
大块，有些叶片背后有白色的蜘蛛网状的残留。到底是什么insects? 要怎么消灭它们
呢？抑或，它是一种fungi的问题，要用什么可以处理一下呢？
除了要重建好斜坡蓄水池，适度施肥之外，何时可以修剪一下它的树型？总觉得它好像
站不稳，快要倒掉一样。原先的斜坡上爬满了现在正在开紫色小花的藤，非常猖獗，今
年我砍去了一些，可是那藤的根非常之粗和深且广，不知道有没有影响到树的生长。
