你是manager还是junior auditor?作为junior auditor，第一年的时候什么事情都会一
惊一乍的，觉得，哇，发现issue了，呀，material，靠,fraud。然后manager说没事的
时候，junior auditor一定会觉得，肯定是这个manager粉饰太平，为了正义与和平，
我要把意见写在paper里，还要越级报告，成为英雄！
以上，一点都没有嘲讽的意思，因为我第一年当junior auditor的时候，我就是这么想
的。
怎么解决？Communication。问经理，为什么他不觉得。判断一个audit finding是否
material，两个方面，quality and quantity。你先问问你自己，你觉得material，是
因为哪个方面。如果quantity上有material error，你就把算出来的数字给他看，问他
这么大的差异，超过了重要性水平线了，为什么还不material（不过我觉得应该你不是

先说下背景：本科数学，毕业后到一家asset management公司做初级的equity analyst
. 两年后觉得想做精算，于是读了一个精算的master,soa过了3门。因为种种原因搬到
另外的一个城市，精算机会不多，原来学校的connection也没有了，找了3个月精算工
作无果。现在开始考虑risk management和其他investment方面的工作,手里有两个
offer:
一个是本地很大一家asset management，跟我原来做的工作很像。坏处是工作比较
repetitive 和boring,好处是公司很大，估计有很多上升的机会，也有可能转到risk

个机会去一家Sell side top-ranked (top 5) research team做quant equity
research analyst position.现在有点难抉择了。。
我自己分析了下
Consulting manager: 职位高，大老板比较赏识，上升空间比较大。小地方，钱相对来
说不错。
research analyst: 一直想做quant analyst,以后往buy side portfolio management
转，这个sell side也有asset management 部门。当然老板明确说了由于我这块经验不
足要从junior作起。compensation未知，估计不会高于consulting manager.不知道
upside会不会更大。

down的，最小的单位是 team，有team lead负责，manager抓住team lead就行了。。现
在都是scrum，变成了扁平结构，team lead在某种程度上被削弱了，manager就要去管
所有杂七杂八的东西。另外，管理职位和技术职位不一样，你管的严了，手下都跑光了
，你管的松了，手下都不出活，从技术上去的做管理基本上很少有做的好的。。。我们

作稳定性也不好。那么哪个方向对大家最有吸引力？
1.管理：
成为engineering manager，有direct reports，带领技术团队做开发或者职能工作。
从1stline到2ndline，再到大的部门负责人。慢慢爬corp ladder。
2.市场:
成为Product manager，没有direct report，但是有一定资源。后面如果能成
ProductLineMag，可以对产品从定义，生产到销售的整个流程有个了解。对创业最有帮
助。
3.销售:
一般要从pre-sales的AE/FAE入手，没有direct report，后面可能成为App Eng
Manager，也可能干脆去做sales/sales manager，工作压力大，但是待遇上限高，有

哪怕技术差点、态度差点。

Lz在大学一研究所做码工，本来就想混个身份养个老。工作环境也大致如此，四点办公
室已经没有人了。和我一起做码工的还有两个人，一个保加利亚人一个土耳其人。土耳
其人是team lead。不过这个土耳其人天天抱怨说manager多么不懂技术，ticket一团乱
，requirement多么不清楚。归根结底manager外行领导内行。土耳其人还对我们要求特
别高，经常被他逼着加班refactor code. 那个保加利亚人也一直附和他，还说做的工
作很无聊一点意义也没有。
LZ觉得manager虽然不怎么懂软件开发，但也不算很差，至少她从来不给我们太多压力
。平时都见不到她。LZ也没什么雄心，只想和研究所其他人一样上八小时班然后回家享
受生活。
现在土耳其人想联合我们其他两个去向研究所的dean反映manager的无能，最好希望能
推翻manager. 按照他的原话是 "take her out". 可是lz只想安安稳稳的过日子，Lz
最大的抱怨其实是土耳其人经常逼着加班，但是lz又不想和他撕破脸，不想和任何人撕
破脸。本来就是个养老的地方 何必呢……所以lz纠结该怎么办呢？ |

manager 1v1的时候倒是问过我对火鸡的看法，还问我code refactor是不是都是火鸡的
主意。我不想做坏人，所以总是说火鸡还好，要求很高但是这对项目也很有帮助，code
refactor都是大家讨论以后决定的。。。
我们有个比较重要的app 是火鸡一手搞起来的，我当时还不在。manager还问过我 要是
火鸡走了，你一个人能维护这个app么？当时我说能。。。
火鸡在这个研究所呆了7年了，听人说他抱怨了7年，还和manager吵过好多次，当着
manager的面说you are not doing your job。。。觉得也不是一时半会儿能解决掉他

I don't think you understand what's going on here. Dean is obviously aware
of the tensions between the manager and the Turkish guy. The lunch is his
opportunity to gauge which side he should lean toward. LZ should not
present himself as having already taken side in this dispute. Maintain the
image of neutral third party would actually make his opinion carry more
weight. I doubt LZ has enough credibility or importance in the Dean's eye

我现在在G做最低级别的Program Manager level 3，但估计还要很多年才能到level 5.
现在有机会去一家还没有上市的中型公司做Product Manager， 工资比现在要少，能不
能上市也很难说。唯一拿得出手的就是title比较好。 在G如果从Program Manager升到
Product Manager不知道要多少年了。
我的背景其实是做数据分析的，现在也在找data scientist或者business data
analyst的工作。
本人偏好其实是做技术，不喜欢开会写文档。但从长远看，data scientist做到最后如
果想发展是不是还要往PM走啊？

天才忍不住对HR 投诉了，结果，HR 居然态度强硬地让我和老印manager都从今以后在
investigation期间work from home，for interestes conflicts, 还说这是公司规定
，我说那能把document给我瞧瞧吗? 她说不行，这属于common practice，让我上网查
，我是网上查到算啥，根本不相关，况且你为什么早不提，晚不提，偏偏我今天投诉他
