比大多数人还是要了解一些的。
首先，USCIS的memo已经出来了，完全就是照着EO的细则来写的，所以EO基本不用看了
，因为那是用layman's term给老百姓看的。EO相当于习近平说我们要如何如何，USCIS
memo相当于下面部委出的具体办法。拿着EO和USCIS Memo来说有啥不同的，都是不知
道政府怎么运作的。
首先，最重要的，USCIS Memo压根没说要降低backlog。昨天一票人在说这么做不可能
降低backlog。废话，backlog的产生是有限的绿卡名额和大量的申请人造成的，三个苹
果分给十个人，再怎么闹也没可能让每人一个苹果。那么memo说的是啥呢，是让申请人
在backlog造成的漫长的等待中不那么痛苦，减少uncertainty。
这个memo看下来，总的来说，喜忧参半。为啥忧呢，EO里面提到的所有的action item

吧，不准就当娱乐，准了别忘了给我点赞。
memo爆了，都是我们知道的事实，只是由国会坐实了证据，相当于抓住主党的脸死抽，
无奈主党的脸根本就是死皮滚刀肉，怎么抽都没感觉，就是抽人的痛快。涉案的是不会
主动退出政治和权力舞台的。
主党和媒体会把memo spin成党派之争，暴露国家机密（说领导弱智属于机密），威胁
国家安全（政治安全），破坏民主体制（反咬一口），追随者和相信者也会不少。

class I once took....the name of the memo. I had them named like Feb 5....

的确memo type field在 dbf中只占一个pointer的地方, 所有数据存于另一个
文件中. 这个文件大小只跟OS有关. memo是很不适合查询的field, 而且memo文件
的存在使X-Base这种没有DBMS的数据库系统来说是个很不安全不干净的隐患.
SQL Server 的varchar 应该是不大于7000+, 所占字节不固定. 你说的那个例子是

殊：
本人目前在联邦政府机构做薄厚， 第三年。由于联邦政府不能雇佣非美国公民，所以
我是以contractor的形式在政府工作。 stipend是来自于一个第三方机构。
有人说这个Funding Source Memo是用来check一下支持我的funding的来源以及可持续性
来源我并不担心，我的直接雇佣单位是这个第三方机构（虽然他们只负责paperwork和
发工资）
我担心的是这个可持续性。 我的合同是一年一签的，而第三方的funding也是来自于
联邦政府机构，这个funding 目前只支持我到今年九月。 下年的合同取决于下年这
个第三方机构是否会得到新得联邦政府的funding。
刚才和老板（我的工作地点的老板）谈了，他说有足够得钱支持我的到后年，但这笔钱
还没有打到第三方的账户上，不知道第三方发出的Funding Source Memo里会写些什么

可是SQL Server里Varchar can take up to.. 4000 or 5000?
forgot. 有的时候确实不够啊。而如果用text, give it a size
of 16 will takes care of any big block of text.
再说，如果我用两个4000的varchar,是不是即使我insert一个几乎
为空的record, the system will still allocate 8000+ space for
this record? While use text, maybe only 50 bytes?
Memo field到底不好在哪儿呢？I've read something like "for
memo fields, it saves a pointer in the table, and all the data
is actually saved somewhere else..." so what? |
