以下是 Glassdoor 上查到的美国这边平均工资数据，应该还是比较可信的：
Microsoft:
- Principal Software Development Engineer: $146,593
Ebay:
- Principal Software Engineer: $133,533
不过不同公司对 Principal 的定义也可能不完全一样。不太清楚 MS 的 Principal 定
位是什么，是否对应 Director Level，还是 Manager Level。
eBay 的 Principal Engineer 对应 Manager 或 Senior Manager Level。它应该和 Cisco 的 Technical Lead 级别相近。eBay 在 Principal Engineer 之上还有 Principal Architect，相应级别也会更高。

能是因为qcom的principal本身的要求就比较低吧？
举个例子，我们组前一阵子面了一个人，他在qcom是senior，后来join另一个公司拿了
个principal，再面我们公司的senior，最后只拿到普通engineer的职位。还有的公司
principal就是最高level，都是几千个人里出一个的水平，这和qcom里的principal能
是一个水平么？
我倒觉得大家换工作的时候得摆正心态，不是说你在qcom是principal你将来就得match
一个principal或者更高的level，面试里表现的好自然level就高，就这么简单的道理。

剩余, 可以用来做为principal reduction, 有的lender称为principal curtailment.
这个reduction一般是在付了一个月的payment之后才反映在principal上.
Principal curtailment is shown as a charge on the closing statement,
that's because it's used to offset the rebate. If you remove it from the
closing statement, the charge and credit column won't get balance.

的却 Investigator. 我土人一个, 不知二者有何不同, 就问了HR. 结果修改过的版本
就变成Principal Scientist了.
有点蒙了: GSK的这俩个title, 到底是不是一样的哩? 明天要出正式offer了, 不知道
该要求要哪title的好呢?
另: GSK里, PHD+3年工作经历的, HM手下与我类似的, 都Investigator; 但另外部门的

hiring manager一般是dev manager或test manager。可能就是你说的那个principal
manager
最后一个senior的人面试完你后有没有借故走开一会然后才来跟你说principal
manager没空？如果是这样，那么凶多吉少。如果他面完你就直接跟你说principal
manager没空，那可能是真没空。

公司按距离fellow的距离，principal是低于微软的层级的。你现在距离fellow差几级
，那就转成MS职称名字距离technical fellow同样差几级好了。

普通或者senior manager. architect转到management track是senior manager或者
director.
从principal跳到architect这个门槛不容易。 我觉得卡住的人大于80%. |
