exactly the same. My attending told me that around 10 job offers per
applicant in Bush era but 1 job offer per 10 applicants in Clinton era.
Rad is very sensitive to technology and politics. ACA really has a major
blow to radiology. One of my senior said that medicine is screwed by ACA and
radiology is super-screwed by ACA.
If you look across the border such as Canada, rad is prospering there. It is

240+ or 245+), class rank ideally 1st 25%, at least top half (which implies
that 3rd yr as many honors as possible) etc. AOA helps, and research and
connection with home dept. definitely helps a ton! radonc对科研可能是所有科
室里最高的，而且md/phd比例也最高。
你老公的兴趣到底是啥？rad/radonc说实话差别很大，radonc life style和收入都没
得说，你愿不愿意每天面对癌症病人？rad还是以看片做诊断为主，哪怕是private得IR
，都要做一些诊断的工作，这个是要干20-30年的营生，他自己的兴趣很重要？他是第
几年得？申请radonc要早点动手去建立关系

equipment so they are paid (as the tech fee you mentioned) whenever those
equipment are used, either for imaging or treatment.
2. rad has quite high work load IMO because of little "down" time compared
with other specialties.

动脉瘤。Vertebroplsty特万金油 骨科， rad, 和neurosurgery也都在干。
个人感觉读片是不可代替 尤其是复杂的Modality 比如MRI，和复杂的Case。比如有一
个病人CTA head@neck, 动脉是正常的， 但是我们发现了鼻咽肿瘤
radiology比几年前是降温了不少。我听说2006年那一片， 我们medical school有25个
申请rad,一个class才110多个。自从Obama以后 radiology受到冲击很大，收费在不断
降低， 但是我觉得这只是一个cycle，并不反应长期趋势。毕竟Obama那些医疗改革并
没有给人民带来太大的实惠 在某种程度上还增加了负担 现存争议很大. |

多市警方打算提出正式请求购买52部摄像头。警方目前有24部闭路电视摄像头，但不是全部都在使用中。
这些设备将以半价从联邦政府购买到。
除了摄像头，警方希望购买峰会期间用过的4个L-RADs(远程声响设备)中3个。还有类似大炮音的设备，可以发出刺耳信号和广播信息。

辐射主要是α、β、γ三种射线： α射线是氦核，只要用一张纸就能挡住，但吸
入体内危害大； β射线是电子，皮肤沾上后烧伤明显。这两种射线由于穿透力小
，影响距离比较近，只要辐射源不进入体内，影响不会太大； γ射线的穿透力很
强，是一种波长很短的电磁波。γ辐射和X射线相似，能穿透人体和建筑物，危害距离
远。宇宙、自然界能产生放射性的物质不少，但危害都不太大，只有核爆炸或核电站事
故泄漏的放射性物质才能大范围地对人员造成伤亡。 电磁波是很常见的辐射，对人体
的影响主要由功率（与场强有关）和频率决定。通讯用的无线电波是频率较低的电磁波
，如果按照频率从低到高（波长从长到短）按次序排列，电磁波可以分为：长波、中波
、短波、超短波、微波、远红外线、红外线、可见光、紫外线、X射线、γ射线。以可
见光为界，频率低于（波长长于）可见光的电磁波对人体产生的主要是热效应，频率高
于可见光的射线对人体主要产生化学效应。

Now matter it is internal or external radiation, the dose equivalent (SI is
Sv and traditional unit is rem.) is the same value for same amount absorbed
dose (SI is Gy, but rad is commonly used.) of one given radiation source.
Therefore, one Gy of absorbed dose of Alpha Particles can be amounted to 20
SV dose equivalent.
But, you know, the same amount SV dose equivalent will make huge differences
between internal and external radiation. |

刚刚收到肿瘤科哪位护士电话，说是良性，明天不用去了！给我order了半年以后复查
mammogram。感觉呼吸都是甜的，太感谢各位bless，huaren的祝福最有用了真心感恩！
关于体检mammogram：我42，从40岁体检开始医生要求每年做mammogram。如果你们医生
没有要求，大家可以在体检时候问下。
也祝福正在等待结果或家人等待结果的mm，一切顺利！
以前都是在这里bless别人的帖子，今天请大家bless我。
上周常规体检，查到左侧乳房有阴影，需要复查。心中有些害怕，但觉得应该是普通复
查，写信给了家庭医生回复说dense是正常的，不要担心。需要复查标注BI-RADS-0
预约了今天说在做一次mammogram，和B超，确认下情况。
