Meanwhile,I took NET.I'm accepted by nursing program at the beginning of my

On Aug 5th,I took orientation.I'm on regular RN (daytime) track.There are 12
students included 2 LPN.They are all white American.I hope I can go through

我当时准备的情况跟大家说一下也许对将要申请的人有一点帮助。
我个人从这里寄出去的材料包括：
1.国内护士执照的公正，在这里网上找的公证处，在纽约，叫最佳公正，电话

2.指纹卡，就在我住的地方的警察局办的，free
3.handbook上的申请表，贴一张照片在右下角（handbook链接：http://www.rn.ca.gov/pdfs/applicants/exam-app.pdf）
这一页有一项是填社会安全号，我当时没有就空着的，没有关系。
4.两张支票，一张办指纹的($51)，一张申请的($75)
5.写了一封信，表示感谢，一张纸，很客气的几句话

我的文采并不算好，但却是一个比较真实的留学生的故事。中国现在与世界的交流越来
越强，来美国也已经变得容易很多了，但我相信，还是有那部分人对真实的美国生活有
所好奇，于是，一直潜水2年的我换了个ID来这儿说说我的生活。
本人算是80后，在国内读了算是重点大学的本科和研究生，其实一直以来都没有想
到出国，最后出来也完全是学校的一次交流机会，本质上就是拿着所谓“访问学者 ”
的签证来给这儿的老板做“廉价”的工作。来到美国已经2年半了，回顾这2年半，在美
国主要做的事情还就是调整身份，也就是把以前的J1签证调整成 H1B工作身份，因为
H1B是移民的第一步。

现在轮到小的了 每学期都有华人家长哭着喊着送，fall semester是圣诞节，spring
semester就是学年结束了也要送，还经常PTA大会上直接公开喊话，这么整，别人家长
还好意思不送吗？

一，以往德国大学都是一碗水端平的理念，前几年还是schroeder总理的时候政府
提出了德国也需要精英大学。虽然目前来说资金和体制都不能和美国名校比，但是口号
至少示提出来了。以德国科技的实力和国力，我相信打造5到8所精英大学还是非常现实
的。不能说和美国top20的比，但top50还是有希望的。
二，体制改革。学制上德国正在从以往的diplom学制transfer到和美国接轨的bachelor
和master上面来。很多学校还提供了很多英语的master国际课程。这让德国学生的国际
竞争力增强了，同时也让德国毕业后去美国或者其他国家继续深造方便了不少。另外一
各重要的改革是，取消了免费的午餐，大学开始收费。虽然目前费用一般是500euro /
semester，甚至不比国内读研贵，但是，学费的上涨是可以预见的。毕竟，从0到500就
已经让学生疯狂的**了好几次，总不能一开始收太多。估计学费最后会在2000－

One thing you might have to do is to find big chunks of time that will allow
you to focus exclusively on research. I myself have trouble getting much
work done during the semester. Teaching, students, committee work, seminars,
happy hours, etc. are all distractions. What has worked the best for me is
to spend one entire summer or semester away from campus, with a clear goal
of producing a couple of quality papers.

semester in China. He is a FP on a 2-2 teaching load.
In normal times this would not work. But our dean is so desperate for money

Actually, I tried some strategies you mentioned above. But, I know I have
little experience teaching and I could have done better. I felt terrible
when I posted this because one student said something unpleasant to me when
she wanted a higher grade for her assignment.
I will teach two more classes this semester. Actually, one is in today. I'll
try not to expect too much for students' evaluation now.

% of the total score.
This presentation is about 1.5%. I already told them they will have time to
discuss with their group member in class and then present. I also canceled

articles per year. Most good liberal arts colleges (Swarthmore, Williams, Colby, Wellesley, etc) have
comparatively high requirements
for
research, and research weights 30-40% when come to tenure evaluation. We
also have generous start-up funding, which is bigger than many 3rd tire or even some 2rd tier state
