If it offers any comfort, I spent about 16-18 hours prepping for a 2.5

program.
Try not to regurgitate the textbook to students. They can read the book
themselves, and our value is what we can offer above and beyond the book,
more examples, more practice, more thought-provoking questions. Take the

不能make a request。

Edward Frenkel:
What if you had to take an art class in which you were only taught how to
paint a fence? What if you were never shown the paintings of van Gogh and
Picasso, weren’t even told they existed? Alas, this is how math is taught,
and so for most of us it becomes the intellectual equivalent of watching
paint dry.

“I’d look over their homework, and what I was seeing, it didn’t look like
they were being taught math,” recalls Rifkin, who speaks emphatically,
with a heavy Russian accent. “I’d ...

teaching first grade at Brookline's Pierce School since 1987. He says he's
stepping down mostly because the data collection associated with education
reform takes time and attention away from teaching the way he believes is
best for children. (Sharon Brody/WBUR)
