Wheel alignment 与你的车胎没什么关系，因为它调整的是control arms等，但不是
tire。但多数人都是在刚刚换了新车胎之后马上做Wheel Alignment。

as before.However, I remember that for the old set of tires, the rim of each
wheel was almost covered by the tire so that it was barely seen. But this
time after a new set of tires is installed, I notice that I can clearly see
the rim of the wheel. Does it indicate the tires were not properly mounted?
or It is just OK. No much experience in this. Please kindly help if you can.

我们是纽约附近地区，冬天下雪的，不过大人小孩schedule也算flexible，不是到那种
刮风下雪都需要出门上班，风雨无阻的情况， 住的地方有些小local，的确是有上下坡
的道路，这个还真的是我们的concern。 另外家里另外一辆是outback，so far很足够
用了,大下雪天，我commute上班，就开outback，一般的日子，就是现在的nissan小车
。
我知道很多人都说awd是一个很crappy的feature在minivan上，很多大牛们都提到
winter tire，有几个小问题
1.其实我们很多同事都认为，就基本用途而言，不需要四驱。很多家庭的配置，都是一
辆suv，一辆比较省油的小车做commute用。SUV上四驱，但是天天跑着上下班的，还是
省油为主的小车。即使是大雪过后，路也是很快就铲过了。 大风大雨下雪天，大不了
不出门。 （而且实际情况也是如此，谁下着大雪在外面跑啊。。。。）

16) and used in two winter seasons (2010, 2011) on local travel (totally

puncture resistant. However, the seller told me the side wall is not as
strong.
Unfortunately, this tire deflated after I quickly ran over a pothole (I
suspected it is because of my tire pressure was a little bit low). The left
side of the tire got an one inch long cut.

road, change it spare tire in 15 minutes and on my way to the airport again.
nothing was delayed.
When I got back, stop by costco and got my tire fixed for free.
Maybe get a spare tire is the true solution for these run flats.
what if you have an important appointment or on the way to airport? AAA can'
t help much there I guess. |

safty/performance aspect but often overlooked), tirerack.com is a good place
to look and research.
You have to look at each individual tire model (not just the make).

查，顺道检查tire（一开始以为是tire的某个地方被扎破了，去local店里20块钱补一
下就完了）。
刚才dealer电话告诉我说是rim上有个小crack，需要换掉，要不然还会漏气，tire倒是
一点事情没有。请问这种说法是否成立？？？我没记得车掉坑里或者碰过什么尖锐的东
西，之前开了快1000mile也没什么问题。而且一般来说有问题也是tire先被扎破才能把
车轱辘弄坏吧？
如果他骗人，就准备去complain了。

like say my tire is P215/... balbalbala. Tires do have flexible sizes, and
the number you saw on the sidewall is the size when measuring the tire on a
STANDARD rim, or REFERENCE rim or MEASURING rim. |

Then I had the tires mounted and balanced at walmart autocenter, $10 per
tire.
This was the least cost way to go. |

FREE ROTATION啥的DEAL。他说这个不一样。蝌蚪我不懂太多区别，ALIGHMENT我还知道
一些估计就是轴承啥的，但ROTATION 不知道是干嘛。。
不知道一般去哪里做TIRE ALIGHMENT，而且我只有一个轮子貌似要做，大概要要花多少
钱，有好的SHOP推荐吗，比如PEP啊，FIRESTONE啥的。谢谢！
P.S. 我让小儿帮我看4个TIRE，他说其他几个都OK， 左侧UP LEFT 的那个他说要
ALIGHTMEN一下，因为貌似轮子是外外面转，就跟走路的外八字一样，我倒是木有看出

，要是坏了一个送去bmw dealer换得话得400多一个，很多人只好买bmw的tire
insurance，大概1000多块钱
看到版上有人推荐discount tire的insurance，就去买了一个，一共税前116
小二很热情，简单看了看轮胎的情况，说是我这款型号的run-flat tire230一个（他们
店内的价格），保价$29一个for 3 yrs。全国范围内保修，如果自己选择去其他地方换
得话，也可以，到时候直接claim就好了，只要不超过230一个就行

rotation(大概在上面开了总共12,000麦）。但是换完之后，把方向盘把直，车就走不
了直线，往左偏；开了一周后去discount tire问，里面的人看了下胎之后说没问题，
说是前面的alignment出了问题，让去做alignment.去了另一家店（discount tire不接
任何和轮胎无关的活），做了alignment，拿到上路开了几分钟，方向盘把直还是往左
偏的厉害，跟做alignment之前没区别。
问了mechanic，他老人家竟然跟我说mazda的车（我的车是mazda 3)踩油门都会往左偏
之类的话。。。。。后来我说还是感觉不对，以前做过rotation都没有这种情况，然后
他们就把前胎左右换了一下，但是开的时候发现如果不给方向盘力，方向盘自动有点向
右偏....不过开起来之后，没有向刚开始左偏的那么厉害了。。。
开其实也能开，但是8月初要有roadtrip，所以想搞明白到底是怎么回事，能让车走直
线，也感觉更安全点....
请大家看看到底是怎么回事啊？？？？

rotation。我再想这个花不划算，保险是100块钱4个tire，如果一次rotation要25，那
4次就回本，8000mile一ro的话，4次就是3w2这个tire也基本到寿命了吧，也就是刚刚
收回100成本。但是考虑还有额外的保险作用，so还是值得？
还是说换4个tire的话，本来一般店就提供终身rotation？ |

Best thing I ever bought. The run flat low profile tire is about $340 each,
cost even more from dealer. The run flat cannot be patched. I have

换tire连锁店，这个新换的胎就是给打的40的psi，比其他3个轮子30高太多了，我还说
怎么这么不专业，我最后给放气放到31了，但是我感觉31好像有点不足，肉眼就可以看
出胎壁往外凸的比其他3个轮子多那么一点点。
我估计tire上面也没法标你应该打的胎压，因为她也不知道你要装在多重的车上，应该
是给一个计算公式，多重的车打打多少胎压，不知道为啥这么重要的指标轮胎公司都不
标在轮胎上，只标个最大有毛用啊。我感觉我这个胎至少要打34-35才是充足气
或者说其实打多少气都无所谓，30-50都可以这正常工作，不过事实是30跟50的轮胎硬
度绝对差很多，也就是说行驶的时候的颠簸感绝对也差很多 |

现在跑了几年，该换轮胎了，有点纠结该换run flat的还是普通的
我是常常会开车去hiking，滑雪神马的，如果在荒郊野外的，轮胎漏气了，真的是件很
抓狂的事情。这个车又没有spare tire就是靠着run flat tire才让人比较安心。我这
两X1，还有以前的DFBB都有过轮胎扎钉子的情况，好在都是发生在城里。毛算一下，大
约每两到3年会扎一个钉子吧。
但是看了网上的评论，run flat tire与同价格的普通胎相比，神马performance，雪地
扒力都差好多（我就是开着4 season胎去滑雪。一般来说tahoe的雪也不是太大，
4season加xdrive也就可以了）
