Automakers spend millions yearly building cars and then crashing them; in
the name of science and safety, firms like the Insurance Institute for
Highway Safety also regularly purchase vehicles in order to see how they
will perform in a crash.
But what happens when a prototype crashes unexpectedly? Worse, what happens
when the person it crashes into is an influential blogger?
You arrive here: NOTCOT.com founder Jean Aw tweeted and wrote about a recent
car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in California, only to find that the
other vehicle involved was a camouflaged 2012 Honda CR-V development
vehicle.
Aw reported this morning that she was struck while merging her Toyota
Highlander onto the PCH in Los Angeles. She claims the CR-V tried to take a
hard left onto Entrada Drive, striking her car and pushing it into (stopped)
oncoming traffic. Aw was taken to the hospital via ambulance; the
Highlander was towed and ultimately declared totaled.
Crucially, Aw also took photos—a lot of them. Thanks to her cell phone
camera, we got a clear look at what she says is the vehicle at fault. It’s
a black-on-black 2012 Honda CR-V, wearing black vinyl camouflage on its hood
and rear hatch. She also caught a shot (from her stretcher, no less) of the
driver, who looks fairly distraught as he leans on the prototype with its
airbags deployed.
Aw’s photos help confirm the 2012 CR-V concept Honda unveiled earlier this
week does largely foreshadow the upcoming production vehicle. For now, Aw
says she’s recovering nicely and is now in the process of filing insurance
claims and looking for a new car. Jean, might we suggest a Toyota SUV that
would fend off CR-Vs a little better—a nice, large Sequoia, perhaps? | t****3

这个新闻里反复强调 2012 CRV，但就是故意不提 Highlander 是哪一年的。 | t****3
发帖数: 2337 | 6 这个也是不同，一个从后撞，头枕好的话加上座椅，伤的程度轻，前撞的话是安全带和
气囊，速度不够气囊不开的话生命没危险但会受伤，开的话也伤的不轻。另外CRV是刹车状态，虽然轻，但速度变化比汉兰达小的多，就像汉兰达撞上了墙，而CRV只是被推了一把。
如果两个车换个位置，结果应该会一样，后面的一定吃亏。
