beach, on the way home at one point he said" Dady, can you turn up the music

我在《朱学勤学术道德和学术水平的覆灭》一文中已列举了朱学勤博士论文《道德理想
国的覆灭》6则低级翻译错误的例子。这些都是引用历史文献的部分，必须忠实于原意
，没有译者发挥的余地，出现的错误都是由于误读造成的。非引言部分类似的误译也比
比皆是，我没举这方面的例子，是为了避免朱的支持者狡辩说那不是误译，而是朱自己
的观点。
我再举出该书中一些错误翻译的例子。这只是朱学勤连篇翻译错误中的一部分，但已足
以说明朱学勤并不具有阅读英文原著的能力，如此大面积的、低级的翻译错误，也说明
了其博士论文不合格，据此出的书是劣质出版物。
朱学勤的英语能力应该只是能查字典，单词分开能认得，放在一块就搞不明白了，简单
的句子都读不懂，初中水平的低级错误比比皆是，例如能把his father still reading
to him from Plutarch（他的父亲还在读普鲁塔克的作品给他听）翻译成“他的父亲
则在一旁阅读普鲁塔克的作品”，初中生都不如。

的民众前往观看。李洪志本人更公开声称，“神韵晚会”是他让各地“法轮功”组织举
办的。晚会“不是给常人娱乐的”，而是“要展现大法弟子的风貌……救度众生、讲清
真相”。事实证明，所谓“神韵晚会”根本就不是什么文艺演出，而是“法轮功”搞邪
教和反华宣传，扩大影响并聚敛钱财的政治工具，是对中华传统文化的玷污和歪曲，是
对观众的欺骗、愚弄和毒害。
“神韵晚会”内容充斥政治色彩。
2017年3月3日，加拿大《环球邮报》网站登载了女作家、该报舞蹈评论员兼艺术创
作人玛莎·夏巴斯(Martha Schabas)的评论文章。作者描写了观看“法轮功”的“神韵
艺术团”在多伦多演出前后的感受,批评“神韵”假借艺术之名而暗中行“法轮功”宣

国家的印象，没看过一千零一夜的人也许觉得这仅仅是书中的孤例，并不具备代表性。

之发抖。”此话在国内流传甚广，从中学生表达爱国主义的蹩脚作文，到专家们分析国
际关系的重磅评论，都不难见到这头狮子的身影。
“中国睡狮论”是一起横跨欧亚大陆，历时两个世纪的话语制造事件，中外学者都所提
及，拿破仑也时常被摆出来。但是他是否进行过这番预测，又在何种场合说了这番话？
仔细考据，说法纷繁复杂；中国究竟是否是一头狮子，沉睡或苏醒也表述各异。
2004年2月，《环球时报》发表过一篇小文章，题为《拿破仑“中国睡狮论”怎么来的
》。作者史鸿轩先讲述了1816年英国使臣阿美士德伯爵(William Pitt Amherst, 1st
Earl Amherst)拜访拿破仑一事，而后引述了这位法兰西英雄对中国的看法：“……中
国并不软弱，它只不过是一只睡眠中的狮子。……中国一旦被惊醒，世界会为之震动。

one. I am not talking about those trivial examples such as "I fell asleep

while on duty, instead of letting his squad mate handle the situation to
avoid a black mark on his record, he would probably be alive by now.
Although we don't know if he would commit suicide when he learns he will be
first sentenced, and after serving his sentence, dishonorably discharged
