美国饮食权威比尔德基金会(James Beard Foundation)星期一颁发年度大奖，将终身成就奖授予“中餐女王”江孙芸(Cecilia Chiang)，表扬她把中国北方菜和上海菜引入美国。
93岁的江孙芸，在上海出世，于北京长大，1958年移居美国旧金山。她60年代初于旧金山开设高级中餐馆“福禄寿”，餐馆主打传统北方菜和上海菜，90年代结业。
江孙芸表示初到旧金山时，根本从来未试过下厨，但发现唐人街的中餐馆糟透了，餐馆没有桌布、餐巾、菜谱，只以黑板写菜单，甚至连黑板也欠奉。餐馆通常只提供三或四道菜，再加一汤的套餐，其中一道菜必有豆芽，而且必奉蛋花汤，所有菜都是甜酸味。江孙芸说：“人们对中餐的印象是中餐馆很肮脏，菜式油腻，没有装潢和服务。”
