a debate about homophobia and hate crimes.
Reports say the 24-year-old Daniel Zamudio was reportedly tortured for an
hour by his attackers, who stubbed cigarettes out on him, carved swastikas
into his body, and mutilated him in other way.
Mr. Zamudio died after 25 days after being viciously assaulted by a group of
alleged neo-Nazis in a Santiago park.

year-old iron oxide mine in the north of the country.
Researchers say it is the oldest mine discovered in all the Americas.

据简氏防务周刊8月9日报道，受铜价下跌和海空军现代化需求的影响，智利最近通过了
一项法案，允许该国政府将国有铜矿公司的10%的利润用于购买军火。智利是南美地区
近几年来军火贸易最激进的国家，但是不太可能采购土鳖国武器。
智利目前是世界上最大的铜生产国。从19世界末开始，智利一直依赖出口铜矿来更新军
备。自2010年底以来，铜价持续下跌，给智利的采购支出带来了巨大的压力。尽管智利
政府内部有一种政治愿望，希望摆脱完全依赖铜出口收入的军事采购模式，但是现在看
来，随着国防支出的提升，智利还是得乖乖从铜矿利润上来扩大军费。
南美地区速来有ABC一说，ABC分别指的是阿根廷，巴西和智利。这三个国家的军备竞赛
可以上述到19世纪末，当时还是“世界强国”的三个国家曾经搞过著名的战列舰竞赛。
不过近年来，智利是南美ABC中唯一保持着较为激进的军备采购计划的国家。根据《简
氏防务预算》报道，2017年智利国防支出总额为45.3亿美元，约占GDP的1.79%，这些军

似乎是在米国和加拿大习惯了自驾，再加上拍片儿对于时间要求比较tricky，于是这一
次我南下Patagonia，决定先自驾2礼拜在整个Patagonia以及Tierra del Fuego地区转
悠转悠，还了车之后再去走那些个长距离徒步路线（这一次虽说不打算走Torres del
Paine的W线，不过打算走完整版的大环线~）
关于这个租车，门道还是有那么些的。首先就是要货比三地。一般大城市能找到相对廉
价的，不过不论是Argentina还是Chile，租车的价格都比米国大城市贵上很多……另外
，Chile和Argentina之间可以随便流窜，当然需要一些个文件以及$$，这些个文件租车
公司都能搞定。如果想在Argentina开车的话，必须购买liability保险。最后，这里基
本的车型都是手动档的，自动档的车价格刺溜就上去了……
我这次是通过一第三方中介定的车，本来最开始订的是Budget家的车，结果在取车前2
天，中介突然给我发信说，budget没有车available，问我换家公司是否ok。于是就这

羊驼，偶蹄目骆驼科，主要分布于南美洲。目前神兽一家主要有四名成员，非别为大羊
驼Llama，羊驼Alpaca，小羊驼Vicuña，原驼Guanaco。

Llama @ San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Llama，体型最大，主要用于运输（中文里llama又名，驼马，名符其实的运输工具）以
及产llama毛（个人觉得llama毛不够软……）Llama分布较广，从Peru到Ecuador到
Chile都能见到。这是神兽家族中被人工驯化的一支。

我一直觉得自己算是比较能开车的人，在米国从买车之后不到2年半的时间里，已经开
出了大约7万mi（当然没出过事故，只在家门口收过一张stop sign没停死的罚单……）
，而且各种城市乡村，高速local，山路平路，风雨雪雾，我也都算是开过不少。结果
，我似乎忽视了一条：就算是米国破烂的公路，也是paved……这里就要抱怨一下，虽
说人均GDP排名Chile比Argentina高吧，但是这个Chile的公路，我实在不敢恭维，亏你
们还收那么贵的汽油……同样是Tierra del Fuego（火地岛，在南美的最最南端，一半
归Chile一半归Argentina），Argentina这一边就是平坦的柏油路，而Chile那一边……
从刚刚过了边境开始，就是没完没了的gravel土路，最过分的是，好些路段居然有不少
大个儿的棱角分明的石头，而且整个Tierra del Fuego Chile side，几乎没一点paved
road！也就是说几百公里几百公里全都是石头路！于是这里简直就是一轮胎的坟场，
我一路上看到无数废弃的轮胎躺在路边……

政权的全方位的隐蔽行动。 阿连德上台后推行的政治、经济和社会改革都由于美国实

乌拉圭只有一天 签证麻烦的话就不下船了
Falkland Island 属于英控 应该不要签证 也就一天
从我这里飞Buenos Aires, Argentina 大概 1300-2000 左右
再贡献几个 cruise价格
(十二月一月二月的便宜很多 三月较贵; 短途9-11天的较贵; 14-19天的较便宜; 20天

不过这些拉美国家总的说来都不是很靠谱，这么重要的policy居然没个正式通告，只能
在中文微博上找到一些贴子。按上面的说法，阿根廷9.2号即日起有美签证的就可以用
ETA不用去使馆办签证了，但直到现在使馆网页上也没有相关信息，我9月6日去LA阿根
廷使馆问过，回复是As of today chinese citizens still need a visa to enter
Argentina.类似的，按中文微博，Chile7月1日开始有us visa就可以免签了，Peru说是
9.21开始。但Peru，Chile的使馆网站上到现在也没有相关信息。
另外前面有个给出置顶FAQ－Q1， 我刚去查了，Peru，Chile，Argentina都明确写着
visa required. 只有Argentina在visa issuance下面提到了 Schengen Member State
or USA (B2), must apply for ETA，注意1是写了B2，2是没说可以免签，姑且认为是
