has two options: a long final where you cannot see the runway until the last

Bear Mountain 50 Miles. It was a very last minute decision inspired by Pen

following a blue route, then you couldn't figure out which way to go, then
suddenly you are infront of a cliff (well not really a CLIFF but probably a
black route). Anyway their trail map really sucks, either that or I just
can't read it very well... heh
The above guy's suggestion is good thou, Brighton is a good beginner-
friendly resort. Try it.

accessable by mott chair.
if take mott chair, get into gate 5 and traverse right. there is a chute
looks skiable from top but with a rope with a sign hanging on a rope in the
air saying "cliff" since it finally narrows down to a very steep, narrow,
and rocky session. it was not skiable or even down climbable before the
storm. I saw a lot of ski marks walking back from this chute/cliff. |

林子里面走来走去就走到了cliff 探身看了看 太高了 地下还有石头 没敢跳 拖下
board准备绕过去 马上就要过去了 最后一步没踩住 失足掉了下去 中途撞到一小树 几
块石头 最后抓到一旁边的树枝 总算停下来了 刚想翻身转过来 抓着的树枝断了 然后
又一头掉下去了 最后扎进齐腰深的雪地 缓了半天 挣扎着爬出来 发现board就在边上
插着 几个老美在旁别张个大嘴看着我

mike wilson，一个超级的
extreme skier，在squaw做了一个40 feet cliff drop， with double back flip。当
时我们就在他landing的旁边10米。而且我以为gopro已经开了。欢呼以后，发现gopro
居然没开。悔。
近距离观察pro翻下cliff太震撼了。 |

发帖数: 18174 | 13 假设400段心率155，达标。因为随后的回落速度很快，所以是安全的。体质不好或者有
基础疾病的人，运动结束后心率很长时间下不来，甚至会心悸。
400段开始你肯定是争取比200略快一点的pace，但是后来坚持不住了，平均数是2：16
。你可以查看分段时间，是突然出现cliff还是逐渐变慢。cool down你发现2:15到2:20
是比较舒服的巡航速度，但是这个速度比400段最后几个25的速度应该又快一点，原因
是你休息了几秒。这跟长游开头的战术也吻合，一次快+一次慢，最多两次快+两次慢，
进入比较舒服的巡航状态。
如果不是这样，400段开头你就发现体力不支，立刻调整到2:16，基本匀速完成，那说
明在目前的身体和技术条件下，2分/100米的速度开头，游250米左右比较理想。在300
米因为无氧耐力略差产生了cliff。提前一点放慢，比较舒服的巡航速度估计不会掉到2
:15，也许2:10就可以保持住。 |

如果说Mykonos是一位豆蔻年华带着不羁野性的西北少女，Naxos是一位年过不惑朴实憨
厚的东北大妈，那么Santorini则是一位风华正茂成熟中透着妩媚的江南少妇了。
当轮船驶近码头的时候，我向窗外望去，只见一面悬崖，很陡峭地削进海水。悬崖的颜
色，从顶层的白色到中间的暗红还有中间间或有一些黑色，颜色的层次让人很容易想到
大峡谷。当旅馆的主人开车带着我们从码头出发后，那之字形的山路又让人想起从温泉
小镇到马丘比丘的那一段Hiram Bingham公路。
刚放下行李来不及休息，就走到Fira镇中心的广场。沿着窄窄的街道，直接来到了悬崖
边上那段著名的 Cliff Walk。
沿着Cliff walk，一路基本上是旅馆和餐馆。在教堂附近有两个雕塑，是两个人坐的高
高的朝着日落的方向远眺，足见这里的人们对爱琴海日落的热爱。
恰逢下午日落时分，而老天也多云转晴。太阳从云层中撒出万道霞光，渐渐从火山岛背
后慢慢落下。

也可以去看下，北面浪大，可以冲浪。MAUI的话死火山口可以去看看， black rock很
不错。
如果不去honolulu可以去big island的，火山公园，mauna kea雪山天文台，绿沙滩，
south point, 船长纪念碑浮潜，manta ray night dive.

1。不该一个人独行hike完全陌生的地方。整个trail单程3小时，一天总共20个人，需
要帮助时很难等到人。
2。他拿到的是the wave的pass，结果在另一个地方摔下去的，明显走迷路了。去the
wave的时候没走过cliff，回来的路当然应该不去爬cliff。
3。最后被看见的时候是dust，不赶在黄昏之前回到trailhead实在太不明智了。公园给
的地图其实是地标对照图，是几百米外的地形，晚上天黑了怎么可能看的见。有探照灯
都没用，更别说手电了。
4。晚上真的迷路了，就不要动了。趁着黄昏的亮赶快找地方想办法过夜。那里半沙漠
地质，晚上会很冷，但不至于冻死。
人这么走了很可惜，更可惜的是类似的故事总是重复着。 |

来美的四年多，去了26个国家公园。本来不会贴图，打算放弃参加这次活动了，但是
Gforce的帖子又激起了我那份对national park的热情。所以我也想来分享一下这些年
看到的美丽的自然风光。另外，对于hiking trail比较多的NP，我也会放一些自己推荐
的Trail，希望能对大家有所帮助。
先来一张NPS地图，图中标出了所有58个NP，其中蓝色钉的是去过的26了，红色钉的是
剩下的32个，也就是近两年的目标啦。

以前去过黄石/大倜傥，这次是带父母去。父母岁数大了，所以整个行程安排比较松快
，也没有hiking的内容。住lodge/hotel，带oven/电饭煲做饭，也在外面吃吃。
大约提前4-5周开始预定机票和公园里的lodge。机票比较贵，旅馆相对比较便宜，8个
晚上，平均$100。在SLC住一晚，黄石里Lake Lodge 3晚，Canyon Lodge 1晚，Old
Faithful inn 2晚，Jackson hole一晚。
租车是在版上取的经，full size car, 9天，$277 (alamo),提前10天左右订最便宜。
汽油的价格在$3.43-$3.69/Gal之间，在盐湖城，Jackson hole, wy和Gardiner, MT加
的油，共用了$180的汽油。

AUSTEN 的写法很幽默，WITTY。她的小说可重复阅读性强。
琼瑶的小说，可重复阅读性差。尤其是随着年龄的增长，琼瑶笔下的人物对白会让我觉
得雷人。
不知道大家读不读CLIFF NOTES，一个小本本，黄黑相见的书皮。美国高中生常常用来
’借鉴‘写书评的一种系列书。
我读了读傲慢与偏见的CLIFF NOTES。里面提到AUSTEN的优点和缺点都源于一个现实，
她终生未嫁，一直和家里人，尤其SISTERS，有非常亲密的关系。她的优点就是，非常
善于描写女性心理和女性之间的对白，而对男主人公的描写往往不够细致，甚至空泛。
想想，达西这个人物还真是这样的。作者很少直接正面描写这个人物，大部分信息都是
通过大妈们的八卦来传达。当最后达西和伊丽莎白相爱，AUSTEN就匆匆结尾了。
我还是喜欢最新版本的达西多一些。Matthew Macfadyen的声音非常有磁性。他在大雨
中对伊丽莎白表白的那一段，让我花痴了。呵呵。他还出演在DEATH AT A FUNERAL，一
部俺非常喜欢的英国喜剧片。 |

，也算凑合，花木兰比较烂是真的。另外两个还没看，不便评论。
国产片现在精品很少，但整体水平还是提高了些，其实好莱坞每年出近千部片子，你能
记住的有几部？个人认为十月围城比绝大多数的好莱坞片子要好看。
btw，有天我一老美同事跟我说red cliff是他看过的最好看的片子之一，我确认了半天
才知道他说的red cliff真就是我看的赤壁。电影这东西看来也是距离产生美。看非本
土文化的东西容易局的好看。 |

，乃至部分影响加拿大的北美华人行动。十几个华人聚居的主要城市将在11月9日可能
是北美历史上第一次华人为自己利益维权的声音。这是很多人想不到的。
当这件事刚开始的时候，很多朋友认为”我们应该大度“ 也有不少人认为”这个说杀
在中国的中国人和我们其实没关系” 但是后面发生的一系列事情告诉我们，这并不是
与我们无关。
毕竟作为在美国的华人我们无法回避一个现实：
中国是一个有核大国, 试图杀掉十几亿中国人本身就是白日梦. 因此这种“杀中国人”
的危险对在中国的筒子们是一个彻底的，可以一笑而过的空炮。
但对于在美国的广大华人乃至泛亚裔来说，却是个必须正视的问题。

的华人不必抗议。”
但这些筒子似乎没有能力想到一旦“中国人可杀”成为舆论，我们会是“中国人”的第

发帖数: 3525 | 46 来了快一星期，除了昨天出去走了一下 Cliff walk的一段路，一直没有出去过。下午
，开车出去溜达了一下。UNC的那个家伙，跟我不住在一栋楼里，我也没他的电话，只
好独自出去。沿着海边的Scenic Ocean Drive开了一圈，在Fort Adams State Park停
留。很巧的是碰到了苹果的老板Lewis。Lewis带着4个看起来是台湾来的夏令营学生（T
-shirt上看得出是来自台湾）玩。没跟他打招呼。遥想当年，有点感慨，世界真小。
在路边，碰到一个Sailing 裁判，他告诉了我怎么去坐船出海看日落，还有肯尼迪结婚
的教堂。很友好的样子。
学校周围的Cliff walk分布着富人造的大房子。
