I-94上的D/S 代表 Duration of Status。按照合法身份期限，而不是无限期。
对于F1学生，I-94 上的 D/S就是I-20上的日期，而且同时要保持有效学生身份，毕业
后或者OPT结束了grace period 也过了那么I94身份就是过期了，不合法了：OUT OF
STATUS.这时开始累计的日子就算unlawful presence。
但是如果学生在校学习期间（I94 D/S还没结束，如果违反了F1学生的规则（比如课时
选得太少或者非法工作）导致OUT OF STATUS的情况下，在被发现之前
是不会自动开始计算unlawful presence的。

I539表，学校不负责这个，让我们自己填表。有两个地方搞不清楚求助大家：
1. 在第三部分1.b这里："Check this box if you were granted, or are seeking,
Duration of Status (D/S)"。这里她之前是J2，所以确实有D/S，但是按照USCIS的指
示， "If you were granted D/S as an F or J nonimmigrant and are seeking
reinstatement or are requesting a change of status to an F or J non-
immigrant then you should check the box in Part 3. Item Number 1.b. of the
form to indicate a duration of D/S". 这样来看她又不符合这个说法。所以说这里
到底该不该勾选呢？

个人又打电话说工资，噼里啪啦地可能在按计算器。刚开始我以为是recruiter，对话
来对话去才知道是consultant 公司。对方说完工资，就发了一个offer letter。
hourly pay，有health insurance，401(k)（没有match，这也叫benefit？)，没提
relocation fee。
哪家client公司（地点知道），具体职位，我都不清楚，因为job广告上写的也不清楚
，只列了一堆关键词。Duration: 12+ months Contract.还没来得及问这个duration
问题。employment at will。
现在我的疑问是：我还想知道到底client公司做什么，需要什么技能。而且要是client
公司觉得我的技能不是很match，几天后就辞掉我，不是坑爹吗？
能否我要几千作为sign-on bonus，表示consultant公司的诚意。或者你们怎么做的？
是否可以要求一个on-site interview。 |

of status里面的，所以是in status。H1b是I-94上有日期的。过了那个日期就out of
status了。入境的时候，
入境官可以（但是不一定会）给逗留期比你H1b petition结束日期长10天；但是无论如
何都是过了I-94上的日期就是out of status。

如果你有out of status，你的I-94就彻底失效了。之后必须出国激活，拿到新的I-94，
如果没有新的I-94，那么你以后所有的时间都是out of status，远远不止5个月。485的
时候就会查出来的。
但是查出来，并不代表一定会有问题。关键看你是什么类型的签证，I-94上面的写的
expiration date是一个具体的日期，还是D/S（DURATION OF STATUS）。
如果是具体日期，那么就麻烦了。如果是DURATION OF STATUS，那么还有挽救机会。

有一个词汇叫“unlawful presence”。I-94上有日期的那些人，就超过I-94上的日期

有另外一个词汇叫“out of status”，就是没有身份。一个人可以是out of status，
但是不在积累unlawful presence。譬如，学生身份I-94上D/S的那些人，不读书了，就
会out of status，但是不在积累unlawful presence。同样，旅游身份I-94上有日期的
那些人，如果在I-94过期之前非法工作，也立马失去身份，是out of status，但是因

请问这种情况怎么买返程机票和填海关的入境卡?
因为现在的入境可能visa只有三十天
1.买三个月后的返程机票，填duration of stay = 90天
这样似乎没法通过两边的海关
2.买一个月后的返程机票，填duration of stay = 30天
可是最后申请了LTSVP，呆的时间会比较长
3.不买返程机票?

报。利率再低还是正回报。在利率上升期，债券价格呈先贬值后回升的趋势，在兑现时
回到面额，这是债券结构决定的。债券基金如果持有期大于它的duration，也是类似的
情况，一般中期债券基金duration也就6-7年。
其次不管债券还是股票，当前投资下去都是基于一个低利率的环境，回报期望一样很低
，risk premium都很低，潜在风险都很高，股票当然比债券风险更高，因为它不过是一
超长期无承诺的inflation linked债券。最近利率的回升和QE的结束有关，并没有打破
几十年的利率升降趋势，而驱动这个趋势的是美联储对通胀预期的控制，这个不变利率
就高不到哪里去。
：锐的问我，为什么债劵在近30年对整体的Portfolio的稳定性有极大的帮助吗？最根本
：的原因是由于美国国债利率从1980年以来是一直在降低，从将近16%到现在接近于0。当

下面对债劵的回报是基于一直持有到债劵到期，大多数的人不会持有那么久。（当然，
这里还要排除信用的风险）。
债劵基金在利率上升时，资产会下降。一般是利率上升1%，资产下降duration%（即
duration是6-7年，就下降6-7%）。而且，因为债劵基金会不断有交易兑现，往往这就
造成了永久的损失。这是和持有单一债劵不一样的。

It is fairly pointless to list all possible ways to progress in training.
The idea behind any progressiong is simple: gradually increase the load. The
load itself can be defined as the weight lifted, the duration of the set,
the reps, the reps per minute and whatever else you can come up with.
The idea of the plan is to increase the duration of the sets without
changing rest intervals. It consists of eight steps.
