统计，为自己以及今后要买房子，租房子的人提供参考
从版上大家的推荐来看，有这么几个好学区，而且适合华人
Katy - KISD
Sugar Land - FBISD
Memorial - SBISD
Bellaire - part of HISD （HISD整体上很烂）
West University - part of HISD
Pearland - PISD
Clear Lake - CCISD
然后从网站上看的结果是
KISD - 10号北面的学校一般不好，南面的一般都不错，离开10号越南面越好，
exemplary 学校多,而且要看发展的情况，南面靠10号的Taylor高中现在就不行了
FBISD - 几个华人多的新区都不错，而且全美竞赛很多获奖者都是从那几个学校出来的
，但是老区学校不怎么样
SBISD - 整体下降很多，exemplary school没有几个了，不值得那么高的房价，怀疑富
人子女上私立了

西Plano落脚这个问题, 除了两地跑看房看学校, 兼四处找人打听以外, 还到美国统计
局的网站上, 收集了两地的社会经济数据, 也即居民教育,收入和房产价值. 贴出来供
以后有同样问题的同学参考.
West Plano狭义定义为zip为75093的地区, 号称整个Plano最贵的地段. 实际上West
Plano
还有两个不太好的zip,数据比75093差得多.
南湖只有一个zip76092.

简单总结一下
West Plano 胜出的地方:
1. 人口多样性 (diversity), 81.6% 白人，11.3% 的亚裔, 黑人约4%. Southlake 94.
4%白人，1.8%亚裔，1.4%黑人。
2. 人口教育水平: 硕士学位以上 West Plano 为22%, 南湖约20%. 这和Plano亚裔比例
高有关系.

allen 9, murphy 8, frisco 21. 好象是这么个数字.找到我拍上来.
至于Allen ISD, Plano ISD, Carroll ISD 评级, 请参考. 当然我对这些学区具体优缺
点也不大了解. 只是从我高中时就知道WEST PLANO是最有名气的.

Plano 的问题在于, 学校之间的差异太大, exemplary学校的数量较少选择不多. 即便
买到很贵的区(50-70万), 也未必上的到exemplary. 比较便宜的区（30几万）的学校反
而还可能更好。3 个 Senior High, 一个exemplary也没有，说明至少有10%的学生有
某科不及格，虽然top1-2%最后去爬藤了。学生个体差异大的后果，大家想想自己小时
候，差生在班里的影响就知道了。 High Level 总结一下，房价差异大 -> 学生个体
差异大 -> 学校质量差异大。
在Southlake买房容易的多，所有的学校，从小学到高中，无一例外都是exemplary。
学业上看，这的top10%可能没有Plano的10%好，但 bottom 10%比Plano强出几条街，因

首先，你要搞清楚他们告你和你的保险公司是否有关系，从你的描述看，好像没啥关系
，他们是以你在车祸中的言行给他们造成的“损害”为理由要求惩罚性赔偿，既不是医
疗费用又不是财产损失，这个确实不在车保险范围内。所以你要自己应诉。这和车祸是
两码事，这里你可以以任何理由告任何人的。人家就认为你伤害了他们，就要告你，当
然可以了，你有啥办法？
其次，你没说他们告你要求赔多少啊，数额不同性质也不同，如果几千刀的话那就是小
额法庭，几万的话就会复杂一些。你得了解清楚具体的程序，肯定会有庭前会议。你得
准备证据。如果是小额法庭，那花钱雇律师没有必要，十几分钟的事儿，自己可以应付
。如果对方要求好几万，那你肯定需要律师，先咨询学校法律援助部门问问看他们的建
议。
再次，不用太担心，这里是法治社会，是可以讲理的，他们告exemplary damage是需要
举证的，我没看见他们有啥证据，除了那个司机外的证人（所以你还的搞清楚到底是谁
告你，是司机、乘客，还是他们一起）。exemplary damage一般是伴随着别的行为的，

发帖数: 81 | 22 已经是去年七月的事了～我开车不小心跟前面的pickup truck碰了一下，刚好撞到
pickup truck的保险杠。因为是个stop sign，我们的车速都很慢，但是我的小日本车
前盖变形了（日本车，你们懂的～）pickup truck屁事儿没有，擦伤都么有。车里俩黑
人，我下车就礼貌道歉(后来知道不该直接承认自己的过失，但是当下就直接做出了这
样的反应)，而且提出可否现金解决（不知道这个是不是就是他在lawsuit doc 里面提
到的wanton）。司机黑人下车什么话都没说，一直讲电话，十几分钟以后来了个警察，
查看了一下现场，相互留了保险policy number就各回各家了。
一两个月后，保险公司的人联系了我，说那人说自己body injured, 保险公司让我描述
了当时的细节，要了我车子目前被撞的位置的照片，说会调查。
又过了好几个月，保险公司来电话说，拒绝了对方要求的body injury的赔付。但是，
说不排除那人可能会找律师告我，并让我如果收到 lawsuit document一定要及时联系。

Plano 以前学区很好，但现在好多学校都不是exemplary了，主要是3所高中都不是了。
另外提到的几个区学校比Plano都要差一些。 |

floorplan还行，没什么选的。
房子B：to be built, 4300 sft, 330k, best match floorplan and can pick up the
ideal lot. it is also very convenice for comutting to work and school.
Exemplary element/junior high, but Recognized high school
俺家娃才4岁，所以高中的是还早，可是也要考虑resale不是？ 纠结呀。· |

review攒的足够多了。。。就是没有啥合适的outstanding可以claim。。。
另外询问公司的律师，律师说prefer给办eb1b，他自己说办eb2还要办perm，觉得麻烦
。。。我就怕公司的律师满嘴跑火车，第一次听到这么个说法，请问有人碰到过这样的
律师吗？

还有frisco所有的小学都是exemplary，那在plano内的四个小学，independence 东 andeson，
西 taylor和coit西 (bxxxxch?)，和riddle 哪个会更好点，貌似coit西面那个更好点

and Unacceptable.
Anyway, most famous good schools in Houston area are "Recognized", not "
Exemplary", like Bellarie (Houston), Clements (Sugarland). So don't worry.

成绩，师生比
例，人种比例就知道了。
deep wood这几年进步挺大的，round rock这些小学现在都不错，中学cedar valley也
是exemplary，但是比起canyon vista差远了。 |

去看过几家Daycare，对primose的印象最好，不过是靠西边的那个，好像是hidden lakes，感觉很专业。 不过靠东边好像还有一个，没去看过。 另外有一家叫brilliant children, 新开的，人还很少，看起来也不错。
dfw很多小学都是exemplary, 但是从小学到高中都Exemplary的就只有Highland Park和Carrol。我想Southlake里的小学区别应该不大吧，反正到后来就一个高中。 |

College Station的小学都不错,而且治安很好。今年的exemplary小学有 Forest Ridge
and Rock Prairie， Rock Prairie被评为exemplary好几年了，中国孩子相对多一些
。据说Rock Prairie旁边租房比较贵一些，不过College Station房租整体不高。另外
Pebble Creek小学也很好，TAMU faculty的孩子很多去这个学校。 |

。学区也差的很大。
Memorial Middle也属于spring branch ISD,是SBISD最好的middle school.Memorial
middle是10分，exemplary school. 至于为什么有的小区zone到memorial middle，有
的没有，我需要去咨询SBISD才能给你答复。
从学校的角度来考虑，我推荐一个10分，exemplary ES, plus memorial middle, plus
memorial high school的组合。这样你要找的小区自然就浮现出来了。 |

发帖数: 1557 | 46 那里的房子很紧俏的，你要盯紧。我当年去抢的第一个房子就在那里，trend maker的
房子，list price $277K, 我们下了$272K的offer,被人full price+3K拿走了，后悔死
了，到现在还记忆犹新。这个房子我估计现在人家$300K也不原意卖。所以那里可能是
唯一个可能升值的小区。
学校是pearland最好的。我发给你：
Silvercrest Elementary，exemplary, 10-point
Rogers Middle School,Exemplary,8-point
Miller JH
Dawson HS
靠288时有点近，但是不吵。上高速容易。

道那里有两个builders在建新房。
另外，２９０南边的Bridgeland有很多新房。小学是exemplary, 10-point,但是初中一

看鸟，尤其是稀有的鸟或是是繁殖季节，不要走得太近大家都是爱鸟的人，追求美丽的
照片的同时也不要忘了不要打扰鸟类和破坏自然环境。如果是同别人一起出去看或者是
看热门鸟，更要注意保持距离，如果为了你一个人照到照片，把鸟吓跑了别人就该埋怨
你了。
建议大家经常温习一下American Birding Association的birding ethics guideline，
争取做爱鸟护鸟的榜样。

去年冬天Snowy Owl（雪鸮）大举南下(irruption)，消息都上了美国各大媒体。最近的
一只出现在离我家一个多小时车程的地方。由于懒惰，俺没有去看。本来以为要等下会

昨天早上刚吃完早饭，正在琢磨一天的时间怎么打发，一个同事来电话问我有没有

list serv，果然昨天有人报告有一只Snowy Owl在邻居county出没。赶紧的，穿衣服走
人。带着老婆到了昨天报告的地点开着车转悠，由于下雾，能见度也就有个1/4英里。
正找着呢，又来电话了。这回是老鸟熟人，他找到了Snowy Owl，问我要不要来看。问
问地点，感情他就在我南面3英里的地方。赶紧的，调头去看。开了五分钟，到了地方
