Activists Fight Wyoming Anti-Gay Marriage Bill

几个星期前路口左转被拍了照。今天收到ticket，
到网站上仔细看了一下高分辨率的图，第一张照片照的我进入intersection的时候，灯
还是黄的。
第二张我已经拐了一半了才是红灯。说明是我进入intersection才由黄变红的。
pay ticket的网站上有个FAQ，里面很明确的说黄灯进入的不会吃ticket
Q. If I am already in the intersection when a light turns red, will I get a
citation?
A: No. Citations are only issued when a vehicle enters the intersection
AFTER the light has turned red. If you enter the intersection on a green or
yellow light you will not be photographed by the camera system. |

4月份收到一个handicap parking ticket, 忘记挂placard了，$475,北加。隔天打电话
去city问，说可以带齐资料in-person contest.悲催的是receipt扔了：上面有停车卡
注册人的资料和有效期。隔天立刻去DMV打印一张，结果新receipt显示停车卡的有效期
是当天开始，而不是原来的日期（去年11月），工作人员说系统就是这么设置的，没有
办法更改。见supervisor,同样的答案，但是给打了一张谁都看不懂的DMV内部使用的
history,可以看到有效期就是初次申请时间。
首次in-person contest:资料齐全，没理由被拒，结果真被忽悠了。工作人员说车主（
我）和停车卡名字不一样，让我写信appeal.告知我们的insurance 是family plan,家
里所有的车都在我名下。回复：理解的，但是他没办法判，说写信就可以。
第二次：写信说明了receipt的时间问题和车的注册问题，附上所有文件的复印件。1个
多月后收到回复，说停车卡是收到ticket后才申请... 阅读全帖 |

一定一定不要图省事交钱了事，一定要上法庭fight.
因为警察不出庭的可能性太大了，超过三分之一。警察不出庭，你自动无罪。
也许找traffic律师更好，据我在庭上观察，律师知道警察是否出庭，如果警察出庭，
他会要求改期，再碰下次运气。
还有，你得ticket的时侯，注意一下是什么样的警察，如果是当地city的，以后出庭的
可能性大，如果是highway patrol 或pass by的， 出庭可能性小不少，所以更不要认
罪。
如果可能，尽量把court date拖很久以后，或改好几次。
我最近的两个ticket, 警察全没出庭。第一次，庭上三分之一的case dismissed, 第二
次更离谱，一大屋子人，最后只剩不到十个人需要trial。
美国这个traffic court制度，最会handle 交钱的，最不会handle exception/anomaly
, 你就要争取成为那个anomaly，让他们头疼。 |
