发帖数: 389 | 16 比赛从Folsom湖边的Beals Point开始。出发前在队伍中看到我们南湾的高手Toshi。我问他今天的目标是啥？他很客气地说争取跑进20小时。我当时觉得他太保守，要知道他可以3个半小时跑完50公里的比赛。他的陪跑整容也无比强大。除了父母妻子外，竟然还有去年这个比赛的第二名Sean来做pacer。最后Toshi得了第三名，成绩是20小时53分21秒。我后来看了他今年的比赛报告，感慨高手也一样可以跑得很艰苦。
比赛5点2分开始。外面依然一片漆黑，还需要使用头灯。先是一个2.26迈、沿bike
path的out and back 。我尽量将自己的pace控制在12分不到一点。在1.19迈处掉头时
，我发现后面没剩几个人。由于pace还是有将近12。我深呼吸了一下，默念了跑版上学
到的教诲数遍：他强由他强，清风拂山岗。比赛还很漫长，急不得。
几乎每个ultra的老兵都会和你说，100英里的比赛一定要慢跑。但是能做到的真不多。
因为我们这次比赛，大部分都是久经沙场的老将，开始照样个个跑快。可能大家刚
taper完，浑身是劲，12分的pace简直是慢得无法忍受，或者说没办法跑这么慢。但是

一起奔跑 - 2012 CIM
先谢谢妹妹和土土，在跑步和生活上给我帮助和鼓励，常有人问大家为什么会开始跑步
，我的原因很简单，我没有竞争心也不想探求自己的极限，只是想跟土土和妹妹在一起。
当然跑步终归是件孤独的事情，一起踏上起点，却不一定会一起跑过全程，一起到达终
点。那再把要求降低一点吧，我只想能够在终点跟大家一起分享途中各种辛苦和快乐，
以后可以说，当年我们都在那场大雨里跑过26.2英里。
还要感谢身边和网上各位朋友直接或间接给我的鼓励，对我来说真的很重要。生病的时
候有段时间觉得到了幽暗的低谷，但也领会到人生最宝贵的东西就是情义和健康。
2010年开始跑步，策划第一个马拉松其实已经有很久，但是同年的圣荷西半马之后受伤
，搬家。。。种种借口，导致2011年几乎一步没跑，2012年初，和癌症斗争两年的小猫
终于死了，我也随之得了一场病，被迫开始吃一种让人变胖，视觉模糊，下意识摇腿，
疲倦，白血球减少的药。。。

in San Francisco. They played the Twister game over and over again all day.
My friend watched it but did not play it. Anyone could play, you just had to
wait your turn. I don't know if these guys knew each other before playing
or not. I think it's hotter if they didn't know! Yes there are some women at
the Folsom Street Fair and Dore Alley (Up Your Alley) Fair, but mostly it's

[ 这里省去500字， 因为那房子里发生了什么事，老夫一无所知， 不作任何猜测]。。
。。。
今天徐小姐恢复上班。而且是老板请回去的。请回去的，你们知道吗?
过程是这样:
徐小姐被逮捕后，他们Division马上开紧急会议决定，所有主管不对外接受采访，
一切按现行州政府行政法规程序处理。研究结果是，事情不在工作单位，不在上班
时间，在徐小姐法院判决之前，她还是单位雇员。马上恢复上班。由老板打电话请
回。
徐小姐人老实，人缘好，出勤好，老板很满意。加上工作多，单位根本不准备开她。
倒是徐小姐面子过不去，在老板请后第三天才回来。
早上老板给一个大hug，并表示要帮她请counselor。今天还是带的饭，估计是她妈
准备的。去微波炉热饭都是低着头。看来还是打击不小。但好像可以跨过去。
这么大的事那位所谓"Folsom邻居"不知道，估计这"邻居"根本就不存在。以前的所
谓被打，自杀说就是假的。

Why do so many Chinese study physics and math relative to Americans?
The answer may be similar to why Germans, Swiss and Danes studied physics
and math, relative to Americans, prior to WWII.
That being, a long history of intellectual cultures in those other countries
and the lack of one here.
It is hard to be a cowboy and a physicist simultaneously.
