1. 跟系主任力争个grader，不过课要太小就没希望了。
2. 力争不果，也不要惩罚自己，熬夜改80人的试卷。有各种解决办法：
2.1 用 Blackboard 输入选择题，自动改卷；
2.2 少布置作业
2.3 从 funding 里挤个1000－2000刀出来雇个学生（自己的研究生最好）替你改作
业。我就是这样做的。
总之不能在改作业上把自己 burn out了。最佳状态就是只讲课，其他 delegate 给别
人，留时间写paper, proposal，陪家人才是长治之道。 |

该作业，系里TA/grader争得厉害，我索性不要，自己付。
单给 lecture 感觉比 lecture + grading 简直少一半的工作量，grading对心情影响
极大，我前两年教课觉得是负担就是被 grading 给 burn out。Lecture only 就完全
不一样，上台讲讲课是调剂调剂，科研做的头晕脑胀的时候上讲台去讲讲是比去 gym
运动还有益身心的调剂。 |

，老太偷偷申请其他学校的工作，跑了。我的小女朋友当grader撑了一阵，拿master出
去工作了一年（不是长期职位）
后来她觉得还是应该把PhD读完，就联系了原来学校的第二个导师，年轻新秀， rising
star级别的。当她已经决定入学了，到开学前夕，这第二个导师给她一封Email说他要
走了。让她找别人。
把她气得啊，好在系里看她可怜给了她一学期RA，混了一学期，然后仓促转学了。她去
了新学校，找了个老中faculty，少见的比较会吹的那种，但学术不太行，一年以后，
这个老中也跑路了。
于是我这个小女朋友又赶紧找了一个年轻老美教授，一学期以后他也走了。我这个小女
朋友赶紧申请了CPT出去工作，后来她认识我了，也就没回学校了。
她说，我就是她的学校。。。 |

2、3角钱一碗，每次还要喊老板儿多刮一勺。身在海外，想吃这类小吃基本上都要靠

材料不齐全，就尽量找相似的替代品。
不清楚具体作法的，就四处搜寻，总结出最理想的做法。
至于味道，国内每家都有自己的秘方，我们只有靠搜索、猜测和想象来向他们靠拢
。边做边尝试和记忆中的味道做对比，所以可以说结果都算是『山寨』，因为『正宗』
太多。
话说昨天做了两块凉粉，准备今天一网打尽几种成都能吃到的小吃凉粉：川北凉粉、伤
心凉粉、旋子凉粉和煮凉粉。

制作过程：

将黄瓜切丝，撒在凉粉长片上。
调一中碗的味：1大匙红油辣子，适量的盐，少许味精，适量花椒粉，和葱花一起

我的专业是计算机，两年前在这里拿了MS学位，找不到工作就入了PhD program. 我们学
校的规定是入program两年内必须得过qualify，我过了两门了，第三门以前fail掉一次，
所以只有一次机会了。而且不管怎么说，我也得在这次过了。昨天我又去考了那门，结果
上场就晕了，考下来感觉就不太好，晚上又翻来覆去的没睡好，一直再想那次考试，结果
发现自己又做错了一道自以为很有把握的大题。这下真是完蛋了。
因为我上次qualify没过，上个学期已经丢了奖学金，本来老师都说好了要是这次过了他
可以给我一个grader免学费，可是这下什么都完了。这还是小事：系里已经说了，因为这
是我的最后一次机会，所以如果我fail了，我就不能register了，所以我的身份就成问题
了！

's a smart girl and because of that, she doesn't really study hard. her
grade is like hovering top 20 out of a class size of 400. she spends tons of
free time online, chatting and playing games. so my relative is thinking
that she may better use her time if she can do some preparation and apply to
college in the us.

一共两年的统计ms,下个学期是最后一个学期，没课。
这个学期给3个老师做grader,评价都不错，有两个老师问我下学期还做不做。
我说要找工作，不一定会做了
然后其中一个老师说和系里管招人的老师说了我很responsible，而且做事很快，虽然
英语还有点问题，但是数学上肯定没问题，然后问我要不要申请做part-time lecture.
最有可能就是讲习题课。
我有点纠结，钱肯定是没多少，3，4k一学期顶多了。不过我们马上要毕业没有收入了
，3，4000也挺有用的。工作据说一周5小时。
主要好处是可以练练英语和打消下和人说话的恐惧感，我来了一年多了都很少和美国人
说话，去面试两次都是一紧张舌头就打结。平时打个电话也很紧张。当年GRE很低分。
要是准备讲一个学期课还得回答问题估计会有点进步。

看到有人问找实习的事情，想写一点东西，但是我的情况只适用“转行”“fresh
master”这些情况，大牛们就不用看了，看了就笑笑过了吧。
一、基本情况：
本科生物，研究生第一年生物，纯做实验的，在医学院修过一些MD的课。年初转统计系
，开始找实习的时候修过三门，正在修三门统计课，master level的，没有做过课程
project,没有工作经验，没有leadership经验。
二、过程和结果：1月12日转系成功，花了一周时间找各种人问经验.1月20日投第一份
简历，其间投了上百份吧（太多实在记不得了），参加了学校的两次job fair.被17个
公司general地联系过，真正的电话面试有8个，里头有两个进onsite,还有直接onsite

（2）Form I-539 表，申请B 签证，拿旅游签证期间，找到工作，申请H1
问题：
（1）雷后，工作签证有没有1个月的有效期？
（2）从B--〉H签证，是不是很麻烦？
（3）I-539 表交上后，身份合法吗？一般多久批下来？
（4）I-94 表2013年底到期，在旅游签证没批下来前，可以合法呆在美国吗？
(5) Dependent 是不是也要一起申请旅游签证？Dependent is a 10th grader.
（6）I-94 到期前找到工作，是不是必须出境才能拿到H签证? |
