其次，你引用的这个不是法条。只是科普的泛泛的阐述。
严格的法条里面怎么可能有“or certain other characteristics”这样模糊的语句？
你怎么知道sexual orientation不是包含在这个certain other里面？
civil rights act并不是定义禁止区别对待的唯一法条。
1964年那个年代，没考虑到sexual orientation也是正常的。
所以1964年之后有无数的补充条款，比如disability原文没有，是1990年加进去的。
gender identity原文也没有，在2012年是通过案例确定的。
禁止区别对待的法律多如牛毛，其中列举的item项目都多少有点不同，
克林顿95年签署的Executive Order 12968
和奥巴马14年签署的Executive Order 13672
里面就明文包含了禁止针对sexual orientation区别对待的条款，
和sex, age, disability等等一大堆并列。

梨树要异花授粉才能结果，而且必须是不同品种梨树上花之间互相授粉，按理说我们应
该找两棵品种互相配对的梨树种才对。不过我当时查遍了各种梨树的生长需
求，感觉在休斯敦还是种Orient好一些——抗病性强、耐旱耐晒、耐贫瘠的粘土。亚州
梨（比如Hosui) 和欧洲梨(比如Bartlett)在口味上可能会好一些，但是在休斯敦能不
能种活都是一个问题，勉强种活了结出来的果子未必就胜过Orient了。结果脑子一热就
买了一对Orient，现在想挖掉一棵真是舍不得了呢。
至于授粉，在我们梨镇，这应该不是问题，附近五英里之内肯定有很多种梨树，勤劳的
蜜蜂会把可以授粉的花粉带过来的，Kieffer之类最常见的梨花就可以给Orient授粉。
种下去不过一年，篱笆高的树苗窜过了房檐，冬天修剪的时候下了很大决心才把长得很
粗壮的中心主干给锯掉，让树冠往开生长，能接受更多的阳光。今年刚刚暖和起来，梨
花就挂满枝头了。
这就是我所追求的梨镇人家梨花开。

雨之时，白孝文却发现自己“力不从心”，无能度湾水，乏力上巫山，难成好事。田小
娥并没恶言相对。她给予白孝文多次温柔鼓励，但是无一不是心机枉费，没有一次成功
。二人只能望山而叹。
当白嘉轩知道儿子偷情后，对其实施了极其严重的惩罚，鞭打，赶出家门。算是彻底撕
下了罩着孝文的礼义廉耻的面具。在白孝文被惩罚后，再有机会和田小娥在一起时，哈
哈， 奇迹出现了，白孝文成功了，他可以一展雄风，肆意的征战田家湾，直达巫山观
云雨。更有趣的是，后来白孝文从一个教书先生终于进入仕途，成为七品县官，当了滋
水县的县长。
