specimens in pathology department and busy service. The program director is
a very nice lady and the associate program director is a Ph.D. who runs
microbiology lab. The interview started with PD's short introduction about
herself and her stories, such as where did she recieve her training, etc.
Then every candidate was required to stand up and introduce him/herself. Be
sure you prepare a concise but interesting speech. |

我以前可惨，解剖四次校内考试，一次NBME考试，校内考试每次都是2小时written
test and 90 min lab test (70 specimen), 还要总分在80以上，不然就没奖学金了，
最后好歹考了个81.6,顺利过关：）。

Specimen of right breast mass 4X2X3CM was sent for inspection. A grey nodule
with size of 2.5X2CM was found in the section. Endoscope finding: The tumor
cells were in nest shape and glandular tube. The cells arranged solidly and
grew invasively. Nuclear fission was easy to see, and nuclear atypia was
obvious. No cancer metastasis was found in the 3 pieces of lymph nodes in

到绿卡。最后老板的课题经费马上用完，在朋友鼓励下，终于下定决
心试考USMLE，这也是在犹豫了多年之后的结果。STEP1的成绩还算ACE，
但STEP2和3都只是一般，但没有FAIL。等拿到ECFMG certificate 的时
候，我已经毕业16年了。另一点很不利的情况是我在国内也一直在医学
院做科研和教学，没有做过住院医。总之，我的各种条件都不理想。知
道美国临床经验对MATCH很重要，在居住的城市的很多医院申请各种见
习的机会，结果都被拒绝。就连在FREE CLINIC做志愿者都没被接受（理
由是overqualify），当时的心情可想而知。
就在山穷水尽的时候，试着和大名鼎鼎但知素不相识何刚医生（老刀）
联系了一下，没想到他在我最困难最绝望的时候伸出了援助之手，在他

ME Ph.D 但实际上做的是materials，主要经验如下：
1. 我们自己搭建了一个PVD/CVD hybrid system, 一般用reactive sputtering
Nitride coatings, TiN, CrN, Si3N4, 也镀纯金属，还有AlSi 等都可以。熟悉各种真
空泵和RGA，我们的系统两级真空，base pressure 可以到-10数量级Torr，我们有额外
的两个Plasma generator 可以提高Plasma density 而不只是在gun附近区域。
2. 熟悉SEM/FIB/EBSD/EDS, TEM/EDAX, XPS, Nanoindentation, AFM, Instron/MTS
universal machines, metallography specimen preparation 等设备的维护和操作。
3. Micro/nanomechanics: 研究了不同金属单晶nano indentation "size effect"的一

machine上打出来的,她们经常还不接受.label machine又经常不工作,打印不出来.
经常就碰到specimen几经有了,却为个label搞得团团转.
IV TEAM也是中看不中用在我们医院.几个老护士在那占着位子,每次call她们都得求
她们.到后来,她们如果不是2个以上的护士试过插不进去她们是不会来的.好在我这
方面还行,不用看她们脸色.有个IV护士还向她们manager推荐我去她们team,可惜我
不想在那家医院呆了.
phlebotimist我喜欢.她们一般随叫随到,省心不少.她们的工作看似也轻松,可惜赚
的太少,要不然我干这个得了. |

specimen repetitively , you will have an average converge to a value , this
value is taken as a true value.
