点，kirkland的35lb，外面有纸盒，也没看清里面的颜色，回家倒在油壶里一看简直悲
剧了，我的苍天那是啥呀，跟牛奶一样，这才看见是什么vegetable creamy
shortening，晚上炒菜试了一下，味道倒是还不错。后来一查shortening可是起酥油啊
，我的苍天，起酥油那是超不健康的，再研究研究，这个主要成分就是豆油，适合炸和
炒，可是还有添加这了那了的，这么一巨桶，够我家吃大半年的，这哪儿受的了。
不知道能退吗，我是超级guilty，知道即使能退食品退回去就得被销毁，可是这么一桶

为什么这么说？因为，学生根本就不知道美国生活水平是啥样，那点奖学金在美国是真
正的贫困人口，而且还是赤贫，因为连点积累都没有。穷是一方面，另一方面是刚到美
国一两年，生活圈子也很窄，根本不知道美国人的日子都是怎么过的。而且，1-2年的
时候正是自以为已经知道美国生活是啥样的时候，所以基本上是人在美国，然后拿国内
的生活方式往美国身上套，想要在美国过国内那样的生活，这就是拧巴的地方。
对于这样的小朋友，俺只能说，好好念书，然后毕业找像样的工作吧。至于中美比较，
两国的生活方式有根本的不同，而且也根本不在一个发展层次上，根本就没啥可比性..

这些是上个月做的，现在又馋了，这个周末准备再做一次。
这是俺第一次成功地做成象模象样的油条，参考了许多人的方子，总结出这样一个方子
。这下好了，以后馋油条，那都是分分钟搞定的事。
1 1/2 cups 牛奶
1 tablespoon 糖
3 teaspoons baking powder （包装上 没 有 aluminum-free ，所以多少含一点铝，
忌讳这玩意儿的话就用别的方子吧！）
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons 盐
4 cups all－purpose flour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Vegetable oil for deep fry
1．在大容器里，倒入牛奶，糖，baking powder，baking soda，盐，搅拌5分钟，应该

I have not been to China; I don't live in Japan (I live in Boston). I don't
know the price of vegetables in China or Japan, nor do I know shipment cost.
Ande I certainly don't know if Chinese farmers fare well or not. But I
suggest we give the author the benefit of doubt.

much there. Here's the menu: three noodle dishes, two uninspired tiny

1 cup cake flour,
1/2 cup sugar,
8 eggs, 蛋白,蛋黄分开
1/2 ts salt,
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder.
1/3 cup vegetable oil,
1/3 cup pineapple juice or milk. (I used milk)
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla (我加的, 觉得可去掉蛋腥味)
先把蛋黄蛋白分开。 蛋白加1/2 tsp cream of tartar, 1 cup sugar 打发到中性发泡
.
另用一盆，把蛋黄，cake flour, vegetable oil, milk，baking powder打成蛋黄糊.
将先前打发的蛋白的1/3加入蛋黄糊里拌匀。然后将蛋黄糊到入打发的蛋白里用橡皮刀
从上往下轻轻拌匀。
蛋糊加到纸杯里到2/3的高度。或者可以倒入烤盘中，下面放上蛋糕纸。
放入预热好的烤箱350F烤25分钟，用牙签试一下，干了就好了 |

1. 忘记历史意味着背叛。
不要用搜索引擎，有谁知道Issaquah， new castle和Seattle 发生过对华人的仇杀？
在 Bellingham的海岸上，有一块花岗石碑上刻着：“华人死线：华人不准越过此线，
1898-1903”
这是为了禁止当年世界最大的三文鱼罐头厂的华裔员工与附近镇上的白人居民交流而设
定的禁令。
华人在美国的历史中若影若现，在需要的时候有时候会在水面上冒个泡，更多的时候沉
没在历史的长河里。
这次版上声势浩大地质问为什么西雅图反Jimmy游行的规模如此之小，我想也许会对本
地华人社区的觉醒有一定的促进作用。
西雅图华人本该是对排华最最敏感的群体，可惜由于历史的隔断，很少有人意识到排华
对我们意味着什么。
今年的年中的时候，西雅图时报上已经有过一个关于历史上排华运动和华人新老移民的
讨论。

我来美国这么多年都白来了，竟然一次都没有看到canola oil是最便宜的！万恶的
safeway qfc albertson wholefood trader joe 里面每次canola oil打折，同一牌子
的vegetable oil/corn oil都跟着一起打折，canola oil还是不能最便宜！
天啊，我这么就这么背呢！连科普文章都说 Canola 油最便宜了，可我怎么想买个比
vegetable oil便宜的canola oil却这么多年都搞不定呢！ |
