我是研究sugar dehydration的，
说实话，我也不是很清楚我会干嘛，
我查了一些工作做xylose/glucose到furans的公司很少
要招人的也都要PHD
我就想做个analytical chemist最好了
因为平时一直用GC,HPLC,之类的分析仪器
是不是我最开始想着key word设成了chemist 就是方向错误啊？
希望大哥大姐们指点啊~~

resear之间的桥梁, 个人意见. 或者说是chemist和biologist的联系, 还没到chemist
和physician的联系.
说点我个人的感觉, 现在大药厂研发新药失败率这么高, 问题不在化学上, 而在生物医
学上: 1.临床之前的模型的预测性不好 2.对疾病不够了解.
其中第一点是很多药在临床上失败的主要原因. 比如肿瘤的动物模型, 基本上只有白血
病的比较有预测性, 其它实体瘤的通用模型都不太行, 而各种genetically engineered
mouse model还不够. 常用的xenograft model基本上没有预测性. |

在这里潜水多年了，现在有了空儿，把一些事写出来。不是为了什么，也没有什么目的
，就当是个树洞吧。因为写的事情多多少少和化学有些关系，就发在这里了。

听说，人生最悲剧的就是放弃了不该放弃的，坚持了不该坚持的。
博士毕业了，我也离开了化学这一行。我觉得有些事，不是我们这一行的人很难理解，
所以把一些多余的话写出来，纪念一下似水流年。回过头来我觉得我们这些人都可以说
，我这一生最好的几年都是在hood里度过的，所以似乎也应该写下来。
我对化学，似乎有一些家庭渊源。我的父亲是做化工的，母亲也曾在化学实验室里工作
。小的时候就经常到我母亲工作的地方去，看到玻璃的瓶瓶罐罐，还是颇有神秘感的。
作为小朋友，现在想，我对科学的热情还是很高的，小学生的时候就在家里电解盐水（
可不是PS上的胡扯）。本科的时候也不知道怎么弄的，最后学了化学。应该说我对
quantitative的东西应该更擅长一些，本科时，物化的成绩一直比有机要好，但是因为

上个世纪七八十年代，Sidney W. Fox就在他的一系列关于“原始汤”（primitive
soup）的实验中再现了从氨基酸合成为类蛋白(proteinoid)的过程，这些类蛋白还能够
自发的聚集成微球体，呈现出蓝藻细胞的某些特性。
现在不能重现的只是这类微球体怎样转化为真正的原始细胞而已。实验室不能重现并不
代表它就是错的，这种小概率的转化事件在最近几十年间的几个实验室的几次实验中无
法重现，但在整个地球环境下，亿年的尺度上实现完全是可以理解的。

具体的compound，总是难说清的。作药的方面，现在有一个三年的funding，一年已经
过去了，加上funding不大，今年过了，明年还有没有钱就难讲了。这作起animal试验
就是烧钱啊。没renew上的其实是作mechanism方面的。
你说的这个流程，和我以前筛的一个compound有相似的地方。当时potency不够，就向
找chemist优化，拿了五年的钱，现在布什用完了么。这个compound因potency不错，合
作的chemist说没必要了。现在就看在身体里的稳定性如何，这个马上要作了。比较细
胞和老鼠的用量，在身体里的稳定性可能会有问题，但不会太大，毕竟在老鼠上的用量
足够作药，但从老鼠到人的跳跃还是未知数。

说实话，我也不是很清楚我会干嘛，
我查了一些工作做xylose/glucose到furans的公司很少
要招人的也都要PHD
我就想做个analytical chemist最好了
因为平时一直用GC,HPLC,之类的分析仪器
是不是我最开始想着key word设成了chemist 就是方向错误啊？
希望大哥大姐们指点啊~~

我找工作那年 来on campus interview的公司
都是冲着ChE去的
到chem来给info
完全就是走过场而已
化学的能投那么多简历 都是瞎投的 算算命中率 跟ChE比起来 差老鼻子了 |

程设计的其实更多的是经验，所以5年经验的BS比一个PHD更受欢迎。

第三届浙江大学青年化学家论坛将于2015年10月30至11月1日在浙江大学（杭州
）举行。本次论坛的主题覆盖化学所有的前沿领域，但我们特别鼓励以下研究领域的学
者申请参加本次会议：（1）光谱和质谱，（2）计算化学，（3）高新材料的合成与应
用，（4）天然产物全合成和不对称催化 ，（5）化学生物学。
申请人需已获得或将于2015年获得化学或相关学科博士学位。组委会将从申请人中遴选
10-15人来杭赴会。浙江大学化学系将为参会者提供往返国际旅费（不超过1500美元，
经济舱）以及杭州当地食宿费用。

distill diazomethane a dozen times . . .
As to Trimethylsilyl Diazomethane, which is a methylating reagent, what kind
of harm can it do in a human body other than making a few methyl esters of
free acids? That beats me.
I know diazomethane is harmless since legend has it that a crazy chemist
sprayed a few mL of a solution of CH2N2 in ether on his arms and he was Okay afterwards. |

while standing by the chemical storage cabinets and had some benzene as the
drink.
You chemistry guys should store a couple of hamburgers in the lab with some
bottled benzene, just like those famous chemists in this world. So, you guys
don't need to leave the lab to grab some food. |
