However, when I check the website for example, zillow.com, I saw a house
assessed price is $172,650, the taxes paid $7881, which is 4.5% of assessed
house price. Why not 0.5%?

Deduction. AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) is separate and relevant topic.
楼主可用 schedule E 来抵 rental income.
万一rental income 不能cover 由于出租而产生的所有cost (i.e. mortgage,
property tax, maintenance, depreciation, etc).其不够部分(被capped at $25K) 可以抵你的AGI (Adjusted Gross Income), given your yearly AGI <= $150K. |

今年中买了房,关于property tax有些问题
1.收到county一封sales confirmation survey, 需要填吗?
2.homestead tax exemption 是明年一月填对吗? 这个是只有买房后第一年才有的
exemption,还是每年都有的?那个时候填的算2012年地产税还是13年的?
3.房子是夫妻共同拥有的,但是这个homestead tax exemption随便是夫妻任何一方填
都可以吗?(因为表格上只需要一个人的信息)
4.同时也收到county一封地产税账单,那这个跟那个homestead tax exemption啥关系
呢?我要是这个都付了,那这个免税的部分难道县里之后退吗?还有地产税账单上
