Lost momentum after a bumpy section of gravel that screwed up my fit (the
seat dropped down an inch or two), so couldn't break my own PR and ended up
9" slower (2:30, 25.3km/h, 255W vs 2:21, 27.0km/h, 285W). |

crest was no exception. By staying on the ridge, I could see the process of
all the rope teams on DC. Little by little, those that were behind us were
now passing us and moving ahead of us. The reason was simple, now they were
on snow field with steps kicked for them and we were scrambling on class 4
terrain. I realized that we had to get off the ridge before we fell too
terribly far behind.

z****8 发帖数: 35 | 6 We started to go down at 10:00AM. The descent was slow but uneventful. After
dropping 2000 feet, at top of DC, I felt much better. All the symptons of
altitude sickness were gone and I felt hungry and wanted to eat again. After
we reached Ingraham Flat at 11000 ft, we unroped and took off crampons. At
that time, I was back to my old self. I could move fast and could run again.
At 2:30PM we were back at Camp Muir and 4:00PM down to parking lot at
Paradise. That was a 21 hour adventure.

所有人撤回到base of summit block。 1点半开始下山,4点回到trail head, |

HP is a fairly relative easy 12ther to climb. From the Snowbowl route, EG is
only ~3,300 with ~9 mi RT. In winter condition, it does multiply the
efforts. However, I am puzzled by the fact that you started at 8:30am and
still hadn't reached the top by 2:30pm. Sounds too long. Did you get lost on
the way up? |

I didn't bring my ski but I definitely will bring it next time even the

I noticed most climbers were with telemark or AT equipment. The snow covers
well from top to parking lot. |

R******e 发帖数: 2254 | 41 1. Switch from downhill to AT, basically, it takes no time. But for telemark
, you need to learn new techniques, which is fun
2. telemark is lighter than AT, which means you can climb faster
3. telemark package is less expensive than AT, you save money
4. telemark is cool
I am sure I will go for telemark in the future. Since you are going to start
backcountry skiing, I will suggest you to go for tele directly.
Of course, AT is fun too, and takes no time to learn if you know alpine
downhill skiin |
